Sorry, had to visit the Emergency room for a "tune up", so to speak, and been out of commission a couple days or I'd have replied already...

Funny...seems the tendency for sticks now is they are built around the desired bullet, instead of the other way round. It only makes sense. Those 162AMAX sure do fly. Haven't tried anything but...

Did good bit of homework and shopping for parts on that one...a little over a year and GAP built it RIGHT.

It shoots like a friggin' LASER. But I'm sure your GAP rifle is no different...

The 162 A-max is one of the bullets out there worth building a rig around, or so I'm told.......

I am in experimental stage with my GAP rifle right now. George Gardener told me it shoots .25 moa out to 600yds with 175 SMK's. Have some twisted up, but haven't shot them yet. Have a VERY itchy trigger finger right now. Was gonna shoot today, but weather sucks.........
 
I was just reading a thread on another site. Guy was getting 5" 10 shot groups rapid fire with his GAP at 500yds. Shooting slowly it fired a 2" 5 shot group at 500yds. Nothing new, typical GAP performance........

Here's a how-to that I thought folks might be interested in. I can't take credit for the idea of the "build your own" bipod lock, I saw the idea here somewhere in a post which I can no longer find.

The build-your-own lock consists of only 2 parts, and takes less than 15 minutes to install. You will need to order one each of the following from http://www.mcmaster.com :

64835K32 Die Cast Zinc Teardrop Adjustable Handle 10-32 Threaded Insert, .32" Thread Depth, Black $5.00/ea

93013A220 Black-Finish Aluminum Unthreaded Round Spacer 3/8" OD, 1/4" Length, #10 Screw Size, .192" ID $1.05/ea

Note that when I ordered these parts, shipping was an outrageous $10+ on the order. If you can find some buddies to go in with you, you can amortize the shipping cost over several sets, which could get the price down to about $7-$8 per set.

The only tool you will need to install this bipod lock is a 1/4-inch scoket to remove the retaining nut for the original thumbscrew.
