Has anyone tried the new FREQ ultrasonic game call?

I listened to TPH podcast with Gary Roberson a week or so back, it was very interesting but that call looks like could be a little bulky and the price point for a non tournament hunter is a bit out of my comfort zone with fur prices not worth any $$ in my area.

If the FREQ was programmable it might be competitive, but if you can't add sounds it isn't of any interest to most people I know.

I believe you can add sounds to the Freq. Not sure what kind of sound package can be purchased through Gary and Burnham Brothers. I know in the past he was heavy on prey distress and shied away from coyote vocals. That may have changed. Seems to be a lot of hype on these callers being ultrasonic but for 1500 to 2000 that's lot of green to cough up unless you make your living at it. How for instance would MFK's sounds recorded in 16 or 24 bit be any better on an ultrasonic if not recorded originally at ultrasonic sound frequencies? Reckon I'll just have to stick with the old Fusion for now.

I thought the X360 weighed in at 12ish lbs. I already feel like a cartoon character when I walk out to hunt with all the crap I'm packing. lol
It's a bit bulky but they give you a handy dandy QD carrying strap. I like than you can adjust the sound and direction. The house speaker under really adds depth to the sound. If im alone going far from the truck I prolly take the back up.

Yes, Sir FoxPro makes a very good product, just interested in the new technology if it will catch on and start new trend and new cost point or if others can produce same technology and hold price point near what it currently is...

Yes, I bought one. Yup, it is more than the 360, about $400 more, but it is lighter. It has good volume and a very good remote. You can set up sequences Unfortunately, mine had a glitch. Whenever I put one in, the unit froze up. They worked with me great, I sent it back in twice, and they even sent me another unit. Very honest company. Since that they have made a fix and I hear that is no longer an issue. I needed it sooner than they got the fix worked up, so I sent it back, and after about 5 months after I received it. They returned all my money in a very timely manner, even after shipping it back and forth multiple times. Very unfortunate, I really wanted it to work out.

Thanks for the reply, it's a little exciting to see something new come into this market.

Look at the freq website, they list a number of new sounds, including vocals, it is the easy call I have ever had to update or add calls. You can use any other sounds from other sources as long as they are wav format. I have had this one since November of last year. I have never dealt with another company so easy to work with. They give you cell phone numbers, email addresses etc, if you have a problem, it is dealt with either over the phone or by exchange. I'm happy that most hunters keep buying cheap chinese and other manufactured callers. Foxpro has made big strides in higher quality equipment. Icotec is probably next, maybe Lucky Duck to higher quality speakers.

Thanks for the feedback, and good luck hunting. Has it doubled your responses as they clam?

Well, I was really trying to keep this thread about the new FREQ caller...
this week I listened to Foxpro podcast, they claim to have had ultrasonic sound for some time now and made some good comments about the limitations to using ultrasonic. Limited distance range, but also that it may help with hung up coyote that is within 100 yards.
Still would like to hear people's experiences with the FREQ but my interest is changing.

Early on I tried other brand ecallers with limited luck and had issues with them till stepping up to the plate and getting a Foxpro Firestorm, it's. been a great call and still works as good as ever. So, kind of cautious of other brands at this point.

I wouldn't be interested at that price point. I'll stick with my Foxpro X-wave with a variety of sound brands. It works for me and I don't see the Freq caller doing much more.

I watched the video on the FREQ, interesting. It makes sense that the higher frequencies would be effective, coyotes, cats, etc do have far better hearing. Its out of my price range but I’d be anxious to see some reviews.
