Have ya'll seen this about (Georgia Precision)?

I called Blackhills Ammo first and they assured me there was no backorder on .223 ammo. I then gave them a heads up about the situation. They were not real responsive (he told me that they had not heard any other conplaints...I think he may have been fibbing a little). They certainly were not surprised.
Georgia Precisions phone is disconnected.

Maybe we all need to post over there where he is advertising for his hunts as to what a fine gentleman he is.........

Somebody needs to book a hunt and then have a blanket party....

Personaly I like a 3' piece of 6/4SO cord, I carry a piece in my truck, you fellow electricians out there know what that is. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I thing this needs to be clarified. There is Georgia Precision Shooting Supplies (Tommy) and there is Ga Precision ( George Gardner). George is supposed to be one of the best riflesmiths around and I'd hate for anyone to confuse the two.

+1

BTW, Tommy's promising, on arfcom, that the rifle will be shipped on 3/3/2005.

I'm curious how many people have money out to Tommy that have been getting the run around and for how many months. He has the nerve to tell me I'm liable for what I say on the net.

All I can say is please be warned and if I ever recomended GPSS to you I am truly sorry.

No problem HD. I don't think anyone expected this to happen. They have been trying to help him on ARF.com for years it seems. He has pulled this before and after a few months he pops back up smellin like a rose. Not your fault as he did deliver alot of small parts for years. I first learned of his doings in chat at ARF.com I was looking for a jewel and a guy linked me to GP.Before I ordered,a fellow chatter warned me and linked me. I decided not to risk it.
For a couple years I bit my toungue. Have to because he did deliver alot of small parts. For those who recieved, there were lots who didn't. Anyways,
This puts a hurt on all the gunboards buying. As stated in some of the posts, people get worried to buy from anyone.
I'm glad I got to meet you and I think you are a great guy and knowlegable gun guru. Id endorse you anytime.
Glad to have ya as my friend. jerryboy

my question is why would any one buy ammo from this guy especially black hills ammo when there are plenty of other vendors prolly cheaper too

Hoosier seemed to have left out that this matter has been taken care of already. Seems that there is a lot of hearsay that goes around on this board.
Jerry- You "Almost" placed an order with me, but didn’t due to a chat with a un named source. Then warned others about this. WTF? We have had thousands and thousands of successful internet transactions over the last few years. Only recently have we had any trouble. I have taken steps to undo any wrong doing that we have done. My website is down and has been since December. We are not taking any new orders until we get caught up. I am limited as to what I can do financially right now but am righting my past wrongs on a daily basis while not incurring any additional troubles.
beeep storms such as this; I do not need or want. I have enough on my plate as it is.

Believe what you want, I am trying to do the right thing.

That simply doesn't erase what you have done. I'm frankly surprised you have the nerve to show your face on here, if I was you I'd be so ashamed I'd hide myself off in some corner.

"beep storms such as this, I do not need or want. I have enough on my plate as it is."

You filled your plate, now eat! Fix what you have done before you start getting indignant.

You betcha'.
I have but one question my friend; you took orders.

If you sent the money on a large lot of parts, all ya had to do was call RRA and say hey, Alot of my orders have been cancelled and I need the credit back. Case closed.
If I order 100 bbls from RRA it would be with my $.Not potential customers. Theres still so much your not telling us man. I'm no literary schollar or a grammar master,Im just a internet gun buyer/home builder that has trusted and been trusted and never, ever had a complaint. And I'm damn proud of that. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif All we have here is trust. I have mailed several hundred dollar money orders to people who cant afford shoes. I give Expensive AR15 to young guys because I see the same look in their eye that I had when I first seen one. I don't have the heart to take something that isn't mine. I'm no good at that. I have trusted guys with hundreds sight unseen. The parts came as promised every time. Foolish? Living how I want? Your ruining it for us man.
You are helping kill the trust so many of us still have in this shooting world.

Well maybe a couple more questions since it's stirring in my mind; How many other boards do you advertise on? And how many times has this "falling out happened"? And if you took these peoples $, what happened to it? jerryboy

I never said I warned others. If I had, none of this ponzi dance would be going on here on Pm. PM aint about that crap. No one rips-off anyone here. And I feel good about that.

Ya see, with all these gins, and coyote hunting daily, I learned a great deal about coyotes.
Sometimes they just want something so bad, they just dont care. One morning,I shot an incoming coyote. A few seconds later his mate pokes her head out of a bush. She had been there the whole time. She obviously seen me shoot the first. I called again and she stepped out.She looked at the dead coyote, then at me. Then the coyote, then at me. Then she made a hasty decision to get the squeeling rabbit. I popped her at 120 in the face. Hunger made her abandon all common sense. Now what does the old alfa male sitting on a hill think of all this? jerryboy

Bear,
Why would I hide? I am not scared. I have filled my plate and I am doing everything that I can to clear it right now. Believe it or not, I am trying to do the right thing here. You can make up your own mind about that.

Jerry,
I have NO ONE that has parts orders that has backorders. Conducting a few transactions online is easy. Once you start doing the volume that I had been doing (25-50) orders per day uses up a lot of cash. I had my prices set that were minimum, for Black Hills, Jewell Triggers, and AR Parts.
We were the largest dealer of BH in the SOUTH, One of the largest dealers for Jewell Triggers in the US (600 Triggers yr) and one of the largest AR Parts dealers for small parts in the US.
I have put my foot out to stop from spinning. I am trying to get back on solid ground. I have NOT Taken any new orders since Mid December. That completely stopped my cash flow, and I am trying to clear up any backorders as my financial situation allows.
I am open to suggestions if any of you have any real ones that are constructive.

So what happened man? Everyone here respects honesty more than anything else. It will not save any potential buisness and most don't really give a crap how or why. But we all know you are moving closer to what happened. I know all the info you posted above. You still aren't saying what happened. If it's embarrassing, E-mail me. I think I speak for all involved and not involved(me)that you plain out hurt our feelings man. I'm not trying to bash you. But it's scarey for guys to send money to a builder and see what has happened here. I don't have orders with you and honestly probably never will. But if I can help you, I will.
Here goes;
Call and contact everyone who has money with you. Period.
Some wont want to hear it.But they cant say you dropped out of contact.
That would be a step in the right direction.

Never/ever take an order on anything you don't have in stock. The world could blow up and you never get the expecting part and then you scraped someone again.Don't let that happen. We all learn from our mistakes but it takes longer in some to realize what we need to do in order to not let it happen again.
If you took orders for coyote special rifles and didn't have the parts right there to complete every one, that is Ponzi scheming and too close to theft to care about. If you went out on a limb with others $,that is wrong too. I feel you are sending the rifles/parts to the people who matter the most(outstanding orders on larger sites)Though I could be wrong.
I just don't understand what could have happened to these peoples $ if there wasn't a ponzi involved. Did a distributor(your dealers)cut you off and you needed to keep going,so you used thier $ to try to pull out of the hole and keep going? I would be happy to hear you made a bad mistake with peoples $ and that you took a job at Mcdonalds and it will be a while and that you are sorry and that you are in touch with every one that is owed and schedule a payback. That would gain more respect than what happened.Yet it still doesn't take away what happened. But letting things get out of hand is what causes chaos. Everyone is just trying to do the right thing by comforting friends who are hurt by this. Did you guide the hunts to pay everyone back?
And again, what happened to everyones $ that it wasn't refundable instantly?
What happened man?

It wasn't fear that should make you hide, its shame. You've proven yourself a liar, and possibly a thief. Had it been me that sent you a scope to be put on a rifle and it came up missing, hiding out of fear probably wouldn't be a bad idea either.

I'm not jumping on the band wagon for GPSS or Tommy, but I think a couple of things in this thread need to be clarified.

No one every said he sold the scope. It was my understanding the rifle was sold not the rifle and scope. And no one said the scope was missing either.

No one ever said he cheated or stole from a childrens charity. The charity got their money from the raffle tickets. Someone on the AR board came up with that senario.

I changed the FFL yesterday after talking to Tommy. If my new FFL sent him the paper UPS overnight like he said he would, Tommy said the rifle would ship today, and he would contact me with the shipping info and a tracking number. All we can do at this point is wait and see. I haven't talked to my FFL today, but am confident he did as he said he would.

I have no prior knowledge of Tommy or his dealings. From what I understand at this point it may well be he is just having financial difficulty. I just don't know. We was once well respected in the gun community but has let his reputation take a back seat to his pride if that is all there is to it. If that's all it is I hope he recovers and at can recoop his reputation or at least part of it.

I've been reading this thread.
There is just one comment I want to make.
Where was the communication from GPS, when it was appropriate, and needed, to those who had business dealings that were going to be harmed? As a businessman, you never hide behind some BS like pride, or anything else, when customers have money or property in your hands that they expect action on. Period. If you are honest, forthright, and up front, you call the people invloved and explain what's going on. And, you immediately refund their money and/or send any customer owned property back to them. Kinda sounds like a few folks were left in the dark when they had money and/or their property in your hands, with zero satisfaction about what was going on. To use the same words you are using, WTF, over...
And, someone above said they were threatened by you that if they posted about this issue, "something" was going to happen. If, after I've tried to settle an issue with you unsuccessfully, where you have my money and/or goods, and I feel I have been wronged, you better bet I'm going to tell the entire world about it.
What's being discussed here is integrity.
Don

Well, Tommy, you are taking new orders every day on Ebay and doing a good job there. Where did the other link to GA Precision go on this forum? Did Kelley get his rifle? Tommy where is my $500.00? You kept my rifle and money from April 2004 until I picked up the rifle in Jan 2005 by driving to your house. You said you didn't have the money. I opened a paypal account for me, sent you the request to let you make payments, where is the money? Far as I'm concerned I'm too old to make threats, got a bad heart too. Contacted all the appropriate agencies, Better Business etc. Takes a long time. Just send me my money if you are sincere. Your business on Ebay is flourishing with no complaints, send the money. The rifle was not touched, many different stories, no work done. Now you're taking from children?
