Head lamp vs hand held for scanning

I have to agree with ultramag on the halo shield. It keeps unwanted light off anything close to me like my partner, a hedgerow or whatever as I'm turning my head to scan. I believe it also has little or no effect on down range effectiveness of the light I'm using, those are just my opinions and the way I hunt.
I'm a little confused by RIEDs capitalization, not sure the points he's trying to make, he's only shown me opinions and has done nothing to substantiate his claims. I do commend him on his toilet paper role and electrical tape engineering job, who would have thought of that.

I know what the light did before compared to my Coyote light for the last 1.5 seasons using them both together 100's of times & where on the dial they match and I know what the light does now .....its better..........so u can take your know it all someplace else as well as u have NO IDEA what I did how I did test it to even make that statement unless now u have the ability to see what it did before and after and know how it compared to my Coyote Light since u weren't there........u must b mentally challenged to even make that statement.........PERIOD........OR better yet tell us MR KNOW IT ALL how u have all this inside info on what I did or didn't do?????????

I'm gonna help you out. If your card board tube didn't quite fit your headlamp you could try a K-cup coffe cup. The slight taper of the K-cup made the transition from my headlamp to my card board tube seamless and eliminated electrical tape build up thus decreasing the weight. Hope this helps.

used a small piece of plastic tube that I made fit snug to the headlamp itself perfect before I attached paper towel tube.....i don't need your help thats for sure.......thx.

I can dial my Coyote light so it virtually mimmicks the Night eyes...I know where it needs to be on the dial and with the adjustable halo to replicate that as I have it marked because I like both lights equal on stand at first so when I catch eyes with the headlamp I can move gun and get same result while I shut headlamp down then adjust up on the animal to shoot........now it takes more Coyote Light to match it.......this isn't ROCKET SCIENCE........i don't need PAR meters, Lux Meters or anything else to measure lumen output to see what I have done has worked........PERIOD!!!!!!

I use a spice container wrapped with black tape,oregano if I remember correctly.
