Hi, I've been lurking this site and thought it was time to sign up and meet some fellow predator hunters. I'm in the Cody, Wyoming area. We've got quite a few critters and a lack of serious callers up here.

It's mostly been a series of solo hunts for me, but a 'wingman' would be great! I live down a mile long private drive and am fortunate to have thousands of acres of fairly hard to access BLM land right out my back door. Red Fox come through the yard most every evening and we have tons of coyote (plus a few cats and lions, black bear - we won't mention the wolves and griz). In fact, was on the phone with a friend this afternoon and while gazing out the back window 4 coyotes ran across the neighbors beet field! I try not to repeatedly pressure the 'home territory' so enjoy getting out and explore other parts of the Bighorn Basin.

If any fellow Wyoming callers would want to check in, I'd be glad to hear from you.

Thanks,

Pat (WyoYote)

ps- I enjoy this website, alot of great info!

Hey Scott

Buffalo, what a great place - if I didn't live here I'd live there! A gentleman my wife works with has a ranch South of you, I think near Crazy Woman Creek.

I'll be in touch

Welcome to the site . Im a long way a from cody but that is my favorite place in the country. My wife and I spent our honeymoon out there and I have been out there a few times in the last couple of years . I hope to live out there someday. I actually have started trying to accumulate pref points out there. Loved the trout fishing on the shoshone river.Fished the south fork park in several areas and the north fork up to the up to the park boundry. Idid see a lone wolf feeding on an elk carcass last time I was out there. Hey is Zapatas still open on the main street?

HI from Thermopolis here, Have a Com Tower on Mcullough Peaks and do business in Park and Hotsprings county, a little in BigHorn County, used to Elk Hunt up grass creek, but starting to get nervous in a wall tent up there these days so hunt the Bighorns more now for Elk, plenty of coyotes all around here, just getting back into it, having a blast although not very successful yet:)

Id be glad to take a trip down there and hunt with you. My wife and I get to Powell every year for the horse show(shes a judge). I really like that country. I have never hunted it before though. I would love to come down and take care of a few of your coyotes for you.

IMO there's way too many, and there's getting to be more callers every year.

I live between you and Thermopsummit.............Meeteetse

Hey, just had a minute to sign on here. It's great to see some fellow Wyomingites check in!. When I have time, I'll PM some of you guys.

Remmy - I called in a pack of 3 coyotes just yesterday morning over by you. O degrees (not counting the wind chill),I won't mention the impossible to miss shot I missed...

wyote - the only 'competition' I've seen has been down towards you near Meeteetse, around YU Bench. Saw a couple of guys in camo with shootin' sticks last weekend...most anyone else have been road hunters looking for an easy potshot. Yea, probably one of these days my luck will run out and I'll bump into quite a few more guys out there. What I have observed is that if you're willing to hoof it and get away from the roads there is alot of unpressured country out there. I'll send you a PM later on

Thanks again for your responses!

Pat

Hi Wyote,
Meeteetse woot have had a lt of fun in that place, someone told me the bar there sold, Elkhorn? they served good food, dopped my Elk lic in there one time and he called me in thermop and dropped it off at the bank next day /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif great folks. used to ice fish sunshine area too always wondered if coyote hunting would be decent up there

I hate to say it, but the pressure is so horrific around Riverton that callers are heading North more and more. I know several guys who are starting to hunt between Thermopolis and Meeteetsee. Start having contests every other week out of Cody and add a bounty to boot and watch things change.

I live close to Greybull Wy. Bighorn County has a very sucessful predator control program. Lots of airplane gunning and a caller behind every bush. Its very tough hunting.I think there is way more pressure than wyo yote thinks.Dogs are very hard to come by.

Color me green with all you gys talking about that country. I am a future resident WY just stuck in CO. The checkbook says I need to stay here. 13 more years and I might be able to talk the wife into moving. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
