I want to know which Bolt action if you had to pick just One which one would it be and what caliber and why you like it so much?????????? Thanks Billy

Me i would want a Custom build 220 Swift.......

For me it would be my Ruger 77R FlatBolt, 6mm. Smooth, dependable, accurate and flexible. My dream gun when I was a starving College Kid. My GoTo gun every since. I suppose that is what makes it so cool for me.

+1 but instead, I would have lots of barrels setting around that I could screw onto it. Saves money on scopes too...LOL

It would be a 6.5 , probably a creedmore, maybe a 260 rem on a defiance
machine (formerly Phoenix Arms) action with a Bartlien barrel. If I only had
one it would have to have a piece of walnut on it. Easy enough on the shoulder
for prairie dogs and big enough for game.

I just put a new BAT up for sale in the classifieds this afternoon.

I guess it would be a 105 mm Howitzer......
My buddy who is on the way to Iraq....He
says they can hit a trash can at 5 miles
cold bore, 30 meter kill radius, that's
good enough for me.I guess it's bolt action??
He says you throw the shell up in it 30 lbs
I think and close the breach then fire it...
Works off some kinda GPS system?????
Otherwize I'd have to keep my Ruger M77RS top tang
in 25-06, me and that gun just get along well...
It's like the bullets read my mind or something...
If Elvis woulda just shot it just one time he'd
still be with us today........

nesika bay switch barrel 6ppc and 223 or a kelby or a HK PSG-1 or a ,sr-25 original, Mcmillan titanium, ok I need to stop way to many on the list

Mine would be my Winchester Model 70 Pre 64 Featherwieght .243. Just one of those guns that feels like it's a part of you when you shoot it!!! Yeah Baby!!! That's the one for me!!! So far, I should say!!

either a sako vixen L461 or forester L579...vixen in 222mag (which i have)or the forester in 250IMP (which i also have)...
both are semi-old school mauser and are sooooooo smoooooth...
and not everyone has one....

I'd keep my Savage 110 CL but probably switch caliber to .243 from the .270. I believe the .243 would be more universal. But like I've said before, guns are like Lays potato chips, you can't just have one! G.A.S. man G.A.S.!

I always have to wonder what the point is in threads like this.

Not that I disagree with posting the subject, but it seems to me like there's likely more point to it than simply posting your favorite firearm.

I spent a lot of years buying, trying, selling, and trading firearms to finally get what truly works for me and my uses. One's not better, or more important than another; they're simply suited for either specific or general purposes, each to their own purpose.

Giving up one would mean making due with something else to "make due" for not having the right tool. Like making due with a screwdriver for a pry-bar, or a pipe wrench or pair of pliars for a hammer.

So, if I had to give up all of the tools in my shop except 1, I'd probably keep a medium set of Vice Grips. It's not really the right tool for anything, but it can be used in a pinch for a lot of things.

I see my firearms the same way. If I gave them all up for one, that one likely wouldn't be my favorite. It wouldn't be well suited to many things I do, but I could "make due" with it.

I'd probably end up buying something like a .270 or 30-06. It's entirely too big for foxes and bobcats, too big for coyotes, still on the large size even for the deer around here, and maybe on the ligher side for larger animals at longer ranges. It wouldn't fit perfectly into much of the hunting and shooting I do, but I could "make due" with it if I had to.

And all of the years and effort I put into finding the right tools for the types of hunting and shooting I do would be for naught.

Which is something I just can't do.
