If you had to pick just 1 bullet for .243....

For hunting woodchuck. What would it be? Shots at 400 are common and out to 600. Angles are low and often on very flat, hard ground, so ricochet is a concern. I am leaning towards 80 grain NBT.

I'm shooting Sierra 80gr sbt blitz out of my 6x47L now cuz it just plain works. Shoot that bullet through my 6mm Rem as well. Just plain works well. Shoots great too.

Twist will be 9.25 or 10. Not sure just yet as I am still a month, or so, away from ordering and haven't finalized a decision. I have been off all week with a bug that won't quit and am just tinkering.

For chucks or prairie dogs I would go with the 58gr Vmax. Terminal performance on small critters is pretty impressive. And you can push em fast enuff to make up most of the the ballistics lost to the longer, heavier bullets.
