Imperial Sizing Wax

Took the advice of several posters here and purchased a can of this amazing stuff. Been using Hornady One-Shot and not really had any problems with it but given the glowing recommendations for this product I ordered and today was sizing about 300 pc of .223 brass. Man what a joy to use this stuff. I had been standing about 50 cases up, spraying all sides, let dry then lightly spray again then run through the sizer. With this stuff you just dump the cases out, get a little on your index finger, rub on your thumb, start picking up cases and sizing. Much easier and much quicker and much cheaper. I would highly recommend to anyone.

You are going to find lots of folks here that swear by the stuff. Me one of them. And one of those ittybitty cans last for years. I bought me another one months ago and I am still using the scrapings off the bottom of a can I bought 4 or 5 years ago. I will get around to it one of these days, but dang if I am going to open it as long as there is any left of my original can. As far as I am concerned, why buy anything else?

Yeah, I started using it about a year ago, based on the advice I got from folks here. Good stuff, once you get the mindset of how to use it. I wish I'd tried it years ago, would have saved me a couple of stuck cases I think.

Yep, it's good stuff alright!

I got some of the powdered neck lube stuff I'm gonna try next time I size a bunch of cases.

Best stuff around plus I always use that powdered graphite neck lube for the inside of each case even when only necksizing. Reduces the chances of getting casings stuck in your dies. Also remember to ocassionally clean the insides of your dies. I've gotten a few small grits of media cleaner inside the dies which resulted in a few minor dents in the necks of a few cases.

I rub a little Imperial on a nylon brush and run it in the neck. I always tumble every round after sizing and this cleans any residue out of the necks. Never had any problems. Oh yes, great stuff!

I also found out about this stuff on here. Great product and the only lube to use when sizing cases in my opinion. And like stated it last forever and no big mess either.

I apply it using a q-tip also; on the inside. I mainly use the Imperial Wax for wildcat forming. To remove it, I put the brass in a solvent washer with pet. ether.

It's all I've been using for the last year.
I just run the tip of my forefinger over the wax, and wipe the wax across the lower 3/4 of the case body, then dip the neck in a small tub of powdered graphite, and size the case. I only do the lower 3/4 of the case body so wax doesn't migrate up into the neck area of the die, and have dimples in the case shouder as a result.
Best thing since sliced bread..

All:

You DON"T have to apply the Imperial Dry neck lube (powder) on the inside of the neck with a Q-Tip for god's sake....!

Just dip a little pile in the container cap, and dip the case neck in the pile....when done, pour the powder back in the container.

AND, you DON't have to tumble the cases after sizing...just wipe them off! You are creating too much needless work.

I KNOW I posted the whole routine here in great detail a month or so ago....including the above.

This site needs to structure a tips archive and quit re-inventing the wheel every week.

I am sorry...I thought since the post was titled "Imperial Sizing Wax" that we were actually talking about Imperial Sizing Wax.
