Next time I head over your way jack maybe we can get out. Have you ever had any luck from the road just after salmon falls the heads to roseworth? I have hunted it a few times. A lot of howlers for us. We are usually hunting it in Jan or Feb.
Last time I was over that way was a couple of years ago when Bill from wildlife Tech came here to hunt and I never seen so many coyote hunters. I trapped all that area back in the 70's all the way to Jarbidge Nevada. I love that area just wasn't many coyotes when we tried it a couple of years ago and way to many hunters. But come this way we will find somewhere to hunt no matter what or a new area.
Good info Brendan. That's a long way out there! I'm sure it would've been nice to have that info before you spent all day out there. I wish they had a map available of the area they plan to do the aerial gunning.
Jarbridge is one cool little tucked away place. Lots of kitys and lions. At least 12 years or so ago there was. I have a pic of the jarbidge jail somewhere. Literally made of osb sheets and 2x4's. Cafe there served a great Bacon cheeseburger too.

Still do. I have been all over that desert down there and traveled many, many miles down in that area. Nice to take the Polaris Ranger and travel around shooting Ground squirrels. I love that desert south of Jarbidge.
I pulled in there last Feb. and some gal working on some kind of renovation said I was welcome to use the hot tub if I wanted to. I probably would have went for it except it would have meant seeing Gary in his underwear
They re-did all the road going to Jarbidge now with the money from the Government protecting the Bull Trout. Nice road going in there. The motel is tiny there but nice. We paid $35.00 a night but I think the prices went up now.
How funny Brendan.... I agree H82. It would be a blast for sure. Bring your 22's we will shoot ground squirrels there are tons of them above Jarbidge. You can just sit in one spot and shoot for 45 minutes then move on to another squirrel city. It is a blast. I have a Suburban Bench seat that goes in the back of the Ranger so you just sit up above and shoot. lol
I guess I am out of the loop H82 what the heck is WCCC the only thing I could find was Worcestershire County Cricket Club and I don't think you play Cricket. lmao
WCCC = World Coyote Calling Championship
I've never been to a calling contest or done any competitive hunting, but since it will be in our back yard next year, I thought I might give it a try.
Know what the best part is Brendan? NO PHONES!!! lol Pretty neat that they were going to let you use the hot tubs. Did they still have any bar at Murphy's. I always just drive by there and haven't stopped in years.

And you didn't talk with Bill himself? lol. He is a talker believe me. I loved hunting with them when they were here. I laughed so hard that my ribs hurt for days. We hunted a week trying to put together another hunting video. We had a blast.

Sorry man I just didn't know what that meant. lol
I'm not much into competition with coyotes unless they temp probe the coyotes or at least have lie detectors available. Had some bad experiences with coyote calling contests. Maybe this one is different but decided I would never enter another one again.
Never been in a contest, not really my thing, but we thought we might try this one out just to get a chance to hunt with some of the guys we read about. Contest or not, it would be fun to get a group together and go hunt the NV/ID border area.
