LED Hunting Lights

I think your right about the 800 lumen, Im sure they added a few hunderd lumin! but it is really a bright light, and its good if you want to add the gel paper since its so bright.
 
Nothing like starting up an old thread, but I just had a Wal-Mart headlamp go bad the other night, so I started searching threads to see what others were using. Found this thread, and just bought one of the headlamps myself. My seller was also cyberport888 as well, and they have a 99.6% seller rating so....

Guess we will see how things go....

If you're refering to the headlamp use this guy he's in the US you'll have it in a week. The $121.99 price must be a typo I just sent the lenk to a friend 2 days ago and it was $21.99. I'd contact him and you could have it in a week.

We can't hunt coyotes at night, but I STILL want one of those headlights and a XLR250 anyway. Is there something wrong with me??? And yes, my wife says I'm a light junkie.

Stanley Led Spotlight (White) from Walmart, XLR-250 Red Kill light and a Laser Genetics ND3X50 is what i use, i have been out three different nights and my Tallies are - 1st night 4 Coyotes in 3 1/2 Hours, 2nd night 2 Coyotes in 3 hours and i took my girlfriend (Non hunter) out Friday for a 1 1/2 hour hunt and i shot 1 large male 10 minutes into the stand, called in another that i could not see but my girlfriend said it was 50 yards away and another that i took a shot at and missed at 100+ yards. Also called in a Swift fox but did not shoot it. All in all my girlfriend and i saw a total of 8 coyotes and 1 Swift Fox in the 1 1/2 hours we were out.

I am sticking with my current set up and it works very well.

We were calling in a 1/2 square mile area and we did not drive around, we walked, to keep the noise to a minimum...

I will post a picture later tonight of the big male in the night calling forum.


The last coyote makes 15 for the 2011 - 2012 season.

I want to see if it's the same one they've got here.
How far will it shine and identify animals?

It is a Stanley Ultra Bright LED Spotlight.Model #SL5W09
Input: 12V DC 500ma.
Yellow and Black and it is a small unit.

It also has UP/Down dimmer buttons located on the back of the unit

Just do what I'm doing. Order the light or predator pack from Jeremiah at Boondock Outdoors, then go to Texas for some R&R and do some night hunting every now and then.

Can someone suggest what to get and links to where to purchase it for a setup using a 22 mag and a shotgun. Theres is alot of option out there right now. I am sure i will get a $20 headlamp but there was alot of killlights i was thinking one of teh following.

I've been following this thread from the begining. I use the ebay headlamp and really like it. I also use the Red 501b you have posted with an aspheric lens. It's the same lens that allows you to focus the ebay headlamp. It's fine for 100 yards.

I aslo have the G4 but wouldn't suggest it because of the 5 modes. You can find sam light witha Q5 LED on ebay with a single mode just search "C8 Q5 flashlights"

I like this light better than the G4 same Q5 LED with a single mode.

I run the 501b and the Skyray on my R15. If they hang up outside the range of the 501 I flip on the Skyray.

I contacted the seller at the link you posted above! I wanted to know what was up with the $121 price on the headlamp, and I received this reply....

"Hi,Sorry having made you confused, it is not the real price, our seller need to control the sales, so they raised the price to stop the customers from buying due to shortage for some time, and when we have new goods in stock, the price will go normal! And you can buy it then!regards,"

So, sounds to me like they are currently out of stock and raised the posted price to keep orders from coming in?!?! Anyway, I'll continue to watch the posting...

And yes Buck, we're in the bassackward state of Arkensaw. I remember when not that long ago it was 22 rimfire and shotguns only for coyotes and cats.

Thanks for sorting through and narrowing down for me. I can only use a shotgun or 22 so i dont need alot of range so i am worried about burning them out before tehy get into the 30 40 yards. But i also want to see out to 100 150 jus tot get prepared. What one light will fit the bill. I plan on going with one light.
