Lets see some JEEPS !!!!!

Well, I was told by I AM JEEP several days ago that expected delivery date to my dealer was May 2nd. May 2nd has come and gone with still not a sign of my new Rubicon. Called the I AM JEEP # this morning & they gave me a new delivery date of May 10th. Arghh!!!

I'm not going to lie, waiting for this thing is harder than I anticipated.

The kicker is that they told me it has been dropped @ the rail yard which is about a 45 minute drive from me ... it has been sitting there since 4/29. Wish I could go get the dang thing myself but it just don't work that way. Oh well, once it shows up so will the payments that come along with it.

Maybe I'll try to enjoy the next week or two. NOT!

..........pics still to come.

Cool deal. Have fun... As I have have mentioned in private, use and see what else you want with it.... Craigslist is filled with I thought it was a good idea but ended up not stuff. Also realize that there are tons of little venders/companies out there making off road accessories. While the big names like Warn etc. are well known, the little guys like Rusty's Off Road, DIY 4x4, etc. All seem to have superioir customer service and better quality control.

Can't wait to see it I have been waiting for my custom rims on my jeep now for 2 months... I have brand new tires, just need rims to fit them

Hey R.B. Its a shorter wait than finding 22 LR ammo around here. Look at the bright side! LOL I know you will think its worth the wait when all is said and done. Take Pics!

Here are a few pics of my 83 cj-7. It is the best of both worlds very capable off road but its street legal and handles great around town or 70mph down the highway.

My jeep has arrived @ my dealership. WooHoo!

I stopped in there yesterday & got to see it ... it's very nice. I stuck my head inside the door, gosh do I love the smell of a new vehicle on the inside. Doubt that will last long because when I get it the tops coming off. Anyway, they are hopefully installing the lift along with wheels and tires, today. If I'm lucky I might get to bring it home tomorrow. We will see! I'll post up pics once I have it in my possession.

.... still waiting on my dealer to get lift installed with the 35" tires. This has been REALLY testing my patience. I'm confident that I'll get it home in the next day or two though.

Picked up the new Jeep last night!

Figured I better pull it out of the garage this evening and take a few pics while it's good and clean. I'm hoping to get the soft top on it by the weekend and take it out for it's maiden voyage. It was a long hard wait but well worth it. I think I'm really going to enjoy it ... along with the rest of the family.

Hope you enjoyed!

I'd still like to see more Jeeps that belong to our members.

I like mine better... It's paid for!!

Sweet ride dude!! You'll love it, guaranteed!! Just something about that rag-top makes it so much more enjoyable.

Looking good! Interested in seeing a 4 door jeep with a ragtop. I have never seen one. A Few cases of Krylon, and the possibilities are endless! Good looking rig!

Well then ... I'll make it happen. As soon as I get it on I will post up a pic or two. I am really thinking that the soft top is what I'll run the majority of the time. I like the convenience of them & I honestly kinda like the way they look too. It's all new to me though.

They don't warm up very good during the winter though Ricky!! Hold on to the hard top until you try to heat it mid-winter. Unless of course you're counting on the global warming thing kicking in soon.

Definitely plan on hanging onto the hard top Rocky, the wifey likes it. Kinda why I went with the dual top option ... I liked the soft top & she liked the hard top. The dual top option satisfied both our wants. Plus I agree, the hard top will prolly be more desireable in the winter. I really like the 3" BDS suspension lift I had my dealer install. It gives a good ride & nothing feels squirrelly. My 35" Nitto tires a really quiet going down the road too! I was afraid that I'd have some road noise issues with them, but so far they seem like it's a non-issue. Unless it's because of the hard top. Maybe I'll hear them more when the soft top goes on.

Definitely hear a little more noise with the softtop, but if you aren't hearing them now, they shouldn't be a problem. I have seen some tires that were quiet when new, but got noisier as they wore.

If you really want noise, I got a set of 38 x 14.5 15s on my F150 that'll make your day!!

.... as promised, pics with ragtop installed.

Put the ragtop on Friday for the 1st time. Boy was it a tight fit! I'm hoping after being in the sun, over time, it will loosen up a bit. I will get faster at putting it up and down as I gain some experience. Right now it's taking about 30 minutes. That includes zipping/unzipping windows and storing them. I like the looks of the ragtop much better.

That's just personnal preference though. It was a great weekend weather-wise & I got to take all the doors off and put the top down for some fun in the sun! Very enjoyable.

Tops? What are those... Just kidding I run the hard top on in teh winter and soft or no top all summer. Good looking jeep. Time for some bumpers and a good set of rocker guards...

One thing to note. When you have the soft top on, never leave any thing valuable in the jeep that you can't live with out and also unless you have a really good alarm do not lock your doors with the soft top. If someone is going to steal something then they will just take a box cutter to the top. I would rather let them in my door and find nothing then have them selves create a door in my $1000.00 top.

These are the reasons you don't see very many jeeps with a stereo system beyond factory. Also if you have to store stuff in the jeep there are many lockable consuls/boxes you can buy.

Here is my 2000 Sahara 4.0 five speed from a last attempt turkey hunt this weekend. Took it bouncing down a little bit of a rough trek into a deep hollow after the picture and I'm not likely to go back on that ride again soon. Ribs are bruised from slamming against the door panel

. All stock except tire size, went up one size bigger than factory. Only top I have and have a detachable faced Sony stereo in it that I lock in the console when going topless and doorless. I did put the mirror bracket on the driver side windshield frame for when I run doors off. Oh yea, gutted that carpet and stored it in the shed

, who carpets a Jeep?

Couldn't find my shooting sticks all morning, anybody seen them laying around

Some really classic jeeps, guys! They don't build them like they used to but my little 4 cyl std. TJ with lift kit gets me there. It's ok in S. Tx. flat country but ya better reach for grammaw in deep mud or dry sand.

Rigged w/1000# winch/boom on rear for large game recovery and 9500# Warn winch on front which I've never had to use (yet) on the jeep. Used it once when it was on my silverado and pulled the truck sideways in mud up to the frame so confident it will do the job on the little jeep if ever needed.

Been huntin's hogs for the past month but will end that up in two weeks and will haul the jeep in. If I can get motivated, would like to build a new rear bumper as the factory bumper a bit light for the heavy lifts I've made w/current hitch mounted chair/boom.

Regards,
hm
