Leupold rifleman scope opinion

I just ran across a decent deal (nib 159.99) on a Leupold Rifleman 3-9x40. I plan on using it atop my TC Omeaga with is a 200 yd deer drillin machine. Is this a good scope choice for its intended use. It appears to be crystal clear for a 200.00 and under scope. Any thoughts?
Thanks

I have one on my .223 Savage and I like it. The only thing I don't like is it doesn't have "clicks" when you adjust the reticule.

If you want to pay 89.95 for rainguard coating. I just buy flip up caps for $15 myself. Otherwise, the glass is the same as the Weaver. Made in the same plant.......

Hey 2muchgun, with all of your hype, I may just have to try one of the Weavers, the cheapskate in me keeps me from spending a ton on a scope. That and a wife and six kids!! Which model is it that you are talking about?

http://swfa.com/Weaver-3-9x38-Classic-V-Rifle-Scope-P2852.aspx Here is the weaver 3-9x38 but the its the same glass plus raniguard in Bushnell 4200 is BS because I've compared a 4200 to a Weaver Grand Slam and the difference is huge. I'd say you guys should have bought the 4200 when I posted it they were on sale yesterday and now it $60 more today and they dont go on sale very often so glad I ordered one of the 4-16x40's for $399 because today it's $499.

Or you could just buy a Weaver V-16 for $299 with the same glass minus rainguard(which is useless anyway because anyone with a clue uses flip ups), and it will track better than any Bushnell out there........

I have a 2-7 rifleman on a 10/22...its good for that. For a hunting rifle I'd probably spend a little more and get a Nikon Buckmaster. Never used the Weaver so I can't comment on that.

Someboby should have told Zeiss about them flip ups. Where can you buy them see through flip ups?

I never understood the Rainguard thing. Flip-ups work better at keeping moisture off, and also keep your glass from getting scratched up......

Flip ups don't work well on a/o scopes, at least for me. In some hunting situations they are a nuisance. Rainguard always is there and isn't noticed (a good thing in this case).

I have been down the elites and weaver's and rifleman's roads. The elites stand out above the weavers and way above the riflemans for optical quality. LOW, Hakko, etc. makes scopes for lots of folks according to specs. Just like different weaver lines have different glass qualities made to spec. which are obvious in comparison. If I were to pick up a scope from a pile of the 3 listed, I would get the elite. Unless I was concerned about resale, then it would be the rifleman. However, I wouldn't be sad if a weaver was the only one left and I got it.
Just my thoughts.

I'm not trying to hijack, but where can I find flip ups for my regular Leupold Rifleman 3x9 scope?

EDIT

Never mind, I found some 40mm Alumina flip opens that will fit for 40.00 [Item#: LU59045], but does that come with 1 or 2 lens covers I wonder?
