Im looking for a new bolt action. I really dont need one but you know how that goes. I was thinking about a Sig Cross but thought maybe there is something else for under $2k that I should be looking at.
I have a Seekins PH3 that I like. I just wish Seekins had barrels available. I have Bergara's, Tikkas, Weatherby, Savages, Remington's,Winchester, Brownings etc. I want something different and nicer.
Let me know if there is something else I should look at.. Thanks

Are any of your Bergara’s premier models? They are made with Kauger actions and are several steps above the base B14. Can’t beat them for the price. I have an HMR Pro and 2 Approach Premiers and can’t recommend them enough!

I do like the new PH3 rifles. To bad to hear they can’t get extra barrels out for purchase. If nothing else trips your trigger its time to have one made to your own specs.

Sounds like you already have most of the domestic choices. If you want something a bit different, maybe a straight pull like a Savage Impulse, or if you've got more money than sense, a Blaser.
You might find a bullpup to be cool. Check out the Desert Tech SRS. You can swap barrels and change calibers in about a minute with a simple torque driver. I like mine, but it ain't cheap.

I dont have a Bergara Premier. I looked at them not long ago. Ill have to check them out again.
Ive been shooting my Sierra wilderness more than anything else lately. It balances really well with a suppressor hanging off the end.

I just looked at them and figured out why I didnt order a Bergara Premier. The 22 CM I wanted was and still is on backorder.

Ive looked into the impulse but seems to be hit or miss. Ive read about a few issues.
Unfortunately, I dont have more money than sense. Some may look at what I spend on toys and say I may not have neither🤣.
I dont care much for a Bullpup. I have a buddy who has one. His seems bulky.

I bought the Ridge SP 18” in 223 and restocked it and love that rifle and a suppressor on it!

The 22 and 25 Creedmoors are coming soon. I have a 25 CM build almost finished on a MacBros action…could have saved some $$ if they announced that a bit sooner!!

Same thing no matter what you choose. Go different.30 cal pcp air rifle. Price is in the area of a custom rifle but unique factor is there.

"Different and Nicer", About all that leaves is a custom action and a custom rifle build. Lots of great custom actions out there to choose from. And...it would be just the way you want it.

First question would be a bolt action for what?

I've built a lot of customs through the years, but picked up a Bergara Canyon, floor plate option, in 6.5 PRC a couple months ago.

Pretty impressed with it.....

A member ask what the rifle was for. Its for shooting. I have a few dozen rifles so I have rifles for predator hunting, deer hunting, plinking, etc. I just want something new.

The Aero Solus looks like a good option. It seems they take origin or solus pre-fits.
The Sig Cross looked like an option for the short .308 barrel which I could run subs from or you switch the barrel yourself as long as you have gauges.
Ill do some research on Sako also. I used to want one years ago.
Ill also look into a Savage Impulse again. Im not crazy aboit Savage but they do shoot.

If your looking for something different than boring turn bolt rifles that won't break the bank, I recommend the Impulse Predator model as it uses AICS magazines, Fixed Ejector and a redesigned extractor that took care of all the old nuances the savage turn bolts were prone to suffer from.
Every other feature is ambidextrous except for the ejection port.
With the straight pull you don't need to worry about any type of bolt clearance issues with scopes.
The aftermarket Jard Trigger is awesome too.
Not to mention the QC pre headspaced barrel feature.

Guess it depends what caliber you want it in. Tikka has become my favorite for a factory hunting rifle. I have 6 of them, and 1 Sako L579 Forester. I prefer European firearms over anything domestic made., and I do have 2 semi-custom 700’s but still prefer Tikka/Sako over either.
Horizon Firearms has some nice stuff and they are using Stiller actions. That’s likely what I will go with, if I ever buy another hunting rifle. But they are over your $2k budget.
