I carried an 870 in the USAF, and love it. In fact that is the only weapon I qualified on while active. I own an 835 that I won at a NWTF banquet. It does kick like a mule but the price was right. The 870 is the gold standard for reliability and durability and ease of maintenance. The 870 would be my first and only choice for a new pump gun.
If you want camo, buy $20 worth of Brownells Aluma-hyde and hose it green and brown. If you scratch it, spray again. I like pretty guns as much as the next guy, but my using guns are far from pretty. Until you look at the targets.
