Just pick mine up tonight, Bolt action that take AR-15 clips. Mossberg MVP

First bolt action with a 5.56 chambering made to shoot NATO rounds. It is a nice looking rifle, mine just came with weaver mounts.

If it warms up, I will get it to the range.

The stock feels great and with a 24 inch barrel /1-9 twist. Can not wait to burn some ss109 and ss855.

I had read in a mossberg mag,,for 2012...they finally got it right.

18 1/2" and 20" barrel offerings.

Yeah i gotta get one now.

Day two with the MVP:

I tore it down and adjusted the trigger. There is only one screw. I turned it ¾ of a turn and I have 2 1/2 pound trigger pull, nice and easy. They have nice way they lock the magazine in place. The release is in front of the magazine and not hard to use.

The stock is has a nice 13 LOP and a goose neck grip. Stock looks like a Boyd.

Mounted my scope Burris 4x14, I still have to laser bore sight. If my Surgeon gives me the okay tomorrow it is off to the range. I have a box of ss109’s that need shot.

The only problem I found was the forward receiver screw is to short. It is holding about a thread and a half on the screw. I called Mossberg and they are sending new screws, eight minute hold time.

My cost was $530 plus tax and made in the USA. I like that part.

Well this is what I was waiting for but I still don't see anywhere that they say they'll make a short barrel....

I held one of these at Academy... it's Beautiful... feels good too... it should ge a shooter from what they say... I would love to have one, but the stock is not user friendly for a lefty shooter like myself...

Dad-Gum...that is a Beautiful Rifle...

Looks like they should be available as short as 18" and as long as 24". Not sure if I will buy one, but I do like how it looks. Wish they would come out with a 1:8 twist and they would hit a market that no one seems to want to touch.

Yea where's everyone getting this info on shorter barrels??????

I do see that a different stock comes on the shorter ones though. More of a traditional hunting stock instead of the bench style of stock. The stock is still laminate and the same color and is designated a MVP though.

If you are an FFL like myself you can simply go to your distributors website and see what is or will be available.

They are shooters for sure! I had mossberg out at Duanes last year for the product launch hunt, very impressive. Whoever gets one will be very happy!

I'm waiting to hear some accuracy reports but if they are good, then I'm getting one. It will be nice to have a bolt that shoots my AR mags and 5.56.
