Most Accurate Rifle Out-of-the-Box

Forget caliber, what is the most accurate shooting rifle straight out of the box? No mods, up-grades or enhancements? Remington brags-up their Sendero line. Others point to Savage. What say ye?

I think the Coopers I got to see at the range pretty much settled that debate. Plus there good looking. I don't think I'd have the nerve to drag one through the fields though.

Im very impressed with my rem vssf 11 awsome shooter. it will touch bullet holes at 200 yrds everytime if i do my part and thats no bs. It is so accurate its a blast to shoot. Just a tack driving unit.

This is always a vigorous topic. Since we are discussing it I'd like to say my Savage 111 in .270win is quite a shooter. If it shoots over half-minute I'm scratching my head for what went wrong. I'm talking out to 200yds by the way. After that it's up to the bullet bc and the wind.

Most accurate[out of the box] bolt rifle, I ever owned. Was a Ruger Stainless Steel [standard]barrel M77 22-250. Best group was, a tight clover leaf[factory ammo] @ 200yrds prone shooting.

Although a good shooter. I didn't like the thick clunky rifle stock.

I have two Tikkas, two Savages, and a Remington 700.
Of these 5, it for sure isn't the Remington. One of the
Savage rifles has a custom barrel, so it is out. The
other Savage is a 204 Ruger, and while impressive, it
has not shown eye popping accuracy. It is about a .5 MOA
rifle. So it boils down to the Tikkas. One is a pretty
M-695 Stainless/Laminate 25-06 Rem. It shoots some pretty
small groups, that most would find inpressive, and I love
it dearly, /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif but it doesn't hold a candle to the Tikka T-3,
in 223 Rem. That little rifle shoots numerous one hole
groups, to the point measuring has to be done under my
magnifying light. So although the race, in my book, is
between Savage, and Tikka, in my instances of rifles,
Tikka has it by a nose.

Tikka does get a solid vote from me for the best
factory trigger. Me and the Savage Accu-Trigger
have not bonded. I have to change springs, remove
stupid internal safety latches, and polish surfaces
before I find them close to acceptable. In about
5 minutes, I can adjust a Tikka trigger down to no
travel, and light force.

TIKKA!! Action smooth as silk, great accuracy, great trigger that is easily adjustable from 2-4 lbs. You just can't go wrong! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Tikka is getting alot of votes. I must admit I'm not familiar with this brand. I do like the notion of a good factory trigger. I shoot NBRSA competitions and my 2oz. Jewel has me spoiled. I think a good trigger makes a huge difference in the accuracy of any rifle. The last Remington trigger I tried out of the box nearly broke my index finger trying to pull it.

Keep the comments coming.

My most accurate out of the box rifle was my Remington VSSF. Now that the trigger is tuned and I started rolling my own it has only gotten better. I would have to say all the savages I have been around are accurate also.

I've had a lot of Remingtons and most shot very well, one was exceptional. I have two Sakos and they are both great shooters. The first 3 shots out of my Sako 300 Win. Mag were touching at 100 yards. That was with factory ammo!

Tikka gets my vote. I own 3 of them, and all shoot very good. The best of the 3 is my 223...very tight groups.
They have the nicest factory trigger, and the smoothest factory action IMHO. I had a Cooper in 220 swift that was beuatiful, and just a pleasure to look at and to handle, but it didn't shoot as well as my tikka's. I've also owned savage and CZ, both nice guns...I still like the Tikka's

Plus, Tikka come with rings.

You just can't beat'm. I've tried and have yet to find another that I like any better.

Just my two cents
