Mountain curs?

Howdy all, first post here. There are some good looking pups on here. I'm getting a cur pup Sunday from a guy in WY. Hope to post pics soon as I get him.
I believe he has 2 females and 2 males left after I get mine, if anyone is interested I can get his phone number.

By the way, great website, lots of info. Just moved here to the Black Hills a month ago and am impressed with all the moving targets. Have had lion tracks in the yard twice now in the past month. Sure hope the state changes their mind about hounds.

WestCreek,
Welcome to PM!

If you don't mind me asking, what is the first name of the guy you are getting your Cur from? The breader that I used lived in WY and just reciently moved to MT.

I'm really impressed how this pup can turn it on when she needs to. But has yet to get agressive with my kids! This pup has more personallity than any other pup I have ever seen. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Great pics cougar!

I've been called out of town, but when I get back I'm goinbg to see the pups Randy has here. He can tell you the blood line he has?

I can't wait!

That is all ways a good time picking out a pup! You are in for a good time bigc. After you get one I garentee that you wont want to go out of town.

Thanks Cougarbait, the guy I'm getting the pup from first name is Miles, I can't think of his last name now. He has the female, the male belongs to a retired (I think) state trapper from WY. The pups are up around Devil's Tower.

He seems to be a straight forward guy, I've gotten tied up for Sunday and can't get away from the ranch because of guests and Miles said he will load the female and the pups up and bring them here for me to pick the pup I want. Considering we are 26 miles from Custer, I think that is going above and beyond, think I'll give him extra for the pup for the gesture.

Hi All

I have raised mt. curs for around 20 years and Kemmer Stock Mt. Curs for a little over 10 years. I have made a couple of crosses that seem to really work awesome for coyote decoy work. I have bred My one Kemmer (Gilbert) to my one female (Echo) a couple of times with excellent results for coon/coyote dogs. I have tried many strains of Mt. Curs over the years but find the Kemmer line to be the most versatile by far.

Cur Dog that cur of yours is sure a nice looker!
What part of Wisconsin are you from?
Northern IL here,
Take care

This is my newest addition to the family. She's now 10 weeks old, what a sweety! She's an Original Mountain Cur. I let the kids name this one. Her name is Lilo /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif. I also have a 1 year old female Original Mountain Cur, Lucy. They are a great dog, smart, brave, and almost loyal to a fault. I have hunted German Shorthairs and Labs all my life, pheseant and duck hunting. I started coon and squirrel hunting with these dogs last season and I am hooked! That's a great looking pup you got there, Cougarbait /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif. I don't think you'll regret going with the Mountain Cur.

Budmandan Thank you. You have an awesome looking pup there! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Are his eyes blue or white? They are very striking. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

I took Chy for her first walk in the Cascades last night. She was totally into the coyote sign. Chy was finding some of it before me. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Chy is my first interaction with a cur. And she is 100 time better Than I thought that she would be! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Well got my pup yesterday. He made his first rounds around the ranch today and got along fine. I thought he got in a jackpot with the old barn cat that has kittens, but he stood his ground and made a lunge at her and it was over.

He brought the female and whole litter to the ranch, it was a hard decision, bunch of good looking pups. But finally decided on the biggest male pup, actually he picked me. I would post a pic if I knew how to do it. Gave him a simple name so I can remember it.... "Dawg".

WestCreek,
Congradulations! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif Pictures???? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Sounds like you were dealing with a good breader for him to bring the pups to you. Breaders of the curs seams to be a little different than other breader that I have delt with in the past. Seam to be more open honest and will to help out!

I like coming into this thread. There are alot of good looks pups here!

Thanks Cougarbait, ok I'm gonna try a pic of me and "Dawg" ......I hope....

Hey Mr. RANUTAH, how is yours working out? My wife wants ours in the house some, is yours strictly outside or did you house train it a bit?

C

Well, here are the three we are getting!

I brindle, one black brindle, and one black and blue. All female. There was still one male left and he is going to be a good sized kid....great looking pups!

bigc,
Nice looking pups you have there! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The last 2 pictures didn't show up for me though.

I think that the brindle color is the best! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Here are a couple of pictures from the other week. I took her for the 2nd vet visit last night and she was all ready 21.5 pounds. I think that she is going to be larger that first thought.
