Nephew shot 1st coyote July 4th

My nephew Seth busted his 1st coyote on July 4th. He was excited, oh, his uncle was to.
We started out on one stand for almost 40 minutes. After throwing the the book of calls at'em, we decided to move on.
We walked back in farther (only 200 yards) along a corn field which opened up into a drainage ditch on the left, creek to the right and a wheat field straight ahead. I called for awhile, using everything from the Tweaked Squirrel, Yote Singer, Sceam'n Demon, and a few sounds on the FOXPRO. I can't realy say what was the magic sound, but they all played a part in getting a young man his first dog. As I was thinking about shutting the stand down, I ask Seth as he was pulling up the Shotgun, do you see one? He said, Oh Ya. Then BOOM! He busted him at 50 yards with 3" #00 buck. There was hand shakes, high 5's, and a couple of hugs going on at that time. I was SO proud and so glad to have had the opportunity to be apart of what is now The Coyote Addiction.

Congrads. Looks like a great kill. Late winter this year I used a 12gage for the first time with the same load Seth did and had the same results. The area you hunt in is sounds exactly like mine, and I have found these areas to be great traveling and hunting areas for yotes to come our of in the day. Even more so at night.

Congrats Song Dog and Seth!

The Coyote Addicition. It all goes down from here. Hours in the field, hordes of calls, camo, guns, shoe leather, etc.... What a great sickness to have!

Song Dog, Next time I'm down visiting my parents, I'll look you up. They're only about 20 minutes from you. We talked about it but never did it. We'll do it this year!

Great Job guys...Tony

Ambush, It sure looks that way here in alot of places.

Tony, You bet we need to hook up. What town is your parents in?

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Seth is so wound up over this. All I can think of it is RIGHT ON!

God Bless,

Song Dog

Congrats to you and your nephew! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif The 4th must have been a good day for coyote calling, I called in my first one on the 4th too.

Congratulation to your nephew. The greatest thrill I've had hunting was when I set someone else up to get their own critter. Best wishes for many more.

Outstanding. Something about your nephew's appearance gives the impression that he's not one to be messed with. Using 3" Magnum 12 gauge #00 buck, it's obvious he is not intimidated by recoil(he'd probably say "the harder it kicks, the better it kills"). /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif He might have a future in one or more branches of our armed services.

Congratulations to Seth for the kill and to you for taking the time and interest to give him the opportunity.

Song Dog,

They are from Sawyerville, next to Benld, which is south of Gillespie. North of Carlinville used to be my calling area for many years, when I lived there.

I might pick up an out of state tag and we can hook up on some calling sites. I still have a few around Gillespie and Carlinville. Some of the Gillespie sites have produced doubles, triples and once 6 coyotes at the same stand.

Take care...Tony

Tony, Thats a big 10-4. I know right where all that area is. I have done some plumbing work in Gillispie and Benld. Let me know when you come down and we will hook up.
Did you get your email from your site?

Take Care and God Bless,

Song Dog
