what would be the best setup for swapping between rat hunting with a pellet gun one night to coyote and coon hunting with the 223 the next to hog hunting with the 308 another while keeping my days scopes on all the above. I was thinking about the pulsar dfa75 or the pvs 14. with the rat hunting deal, its not street lights but the same equivalent of lighting becoming a factor. would I need the adapters for all 3 scopes? if so I need to keep the price down. basically for what I want to do, what do I need and what prices am I looking at? i already have access to a thermal for scanning and finding stuff with.

Ditto. Just purchased a d740 and he made me a very good deal. Spent a lot of time resurching and he told me a lot and was able to help a great deal. Honest about what he knows and what he doesn't.

How about a rail on all three rifles and one Photon XT on a QD rail mount, your daylight scopes also on QD rail mounts.

That would be my choice. QD mount on a Photon with picatinny rails on the guns. You might have to sight in each and save the numbers so you could do the quick attach, but that would work. I do it on a couple of rifles with my Photon. With the .308 in the picture, I wouldn't consider the pvs14. A PVS14 might not stand the recoil of a .308. Not worth taking the risk on an expensive monocular. You could also mount IR lasers under the barrel of each rifle and wear the PVS14 on a helmet.

The ITT Night Enforcer with the Pinnacle Tube is rated no higher than .223 by ITT. All HTRN PVS-14's regardless of what tube is installed in them are rated up to .308 and we warranty them for 6 years. We have had no recoil warranty claims on our own PVS-14s nor have we had any claims on the ITT NE's that we have sold since we began operations in 2008. Most warranty work seems to be from damaged cases, broken switches, or lenses mostly caused by dropping them on concrete, frozen ground, etc. One person fell down the stairs with his ITT NE with Pinnacle tube and it just bent the switch. No damage to the case or tube inside after going down the stairs and bouncing off the concrete a few times. However, ITT considers recoil a risk and therefore will not warranty them any higher than .223. Go figure ! Kevin

Good to hear Kevin. I have never mounted one on a .308 because of all the warnings not to. Glad to know I can. Makes the options a lot better. I personally prefer the .223 for all I do now. Have several bolt .308s, but don't use them at night. I appreciate your expertise.

thanks for clearing that up Kevin. thanks everyone for the impute, i will have to keep studying and looking around for a while
