Ok, night hunting is fun too when it goes like tonight!

The wind is supposed to howl here the rest of the week so I thought I better get out after supper and see if I could "make some hay while the sun shines".

First stand has paid off in the past but not tonight.

Second stand lucky pecker brought in a fox, and I was gawking at that as it veered off, and noticed it looked like it was looking at something and I spun 90 degrees and caught a pair, one was already on it's way out but the second paid for it's mistake.

Botched the shot somehow, rushed and not zoomed in so I had to make a much harder shot on the move.

The next stand I set up in the long driveway to a farm house, and didn't really get to set up how I wanted because as soon as I got out I spotted something slipping through the stalks. It turns out it was a raccoon, and they get no passes from me but I couldn't get a clear shot through the stalks. So after a while of calling with different sounds a pair of coyotes were pacing back and forth in a somewhat clear spot in the field and it looked like that was as close as they'd get so I put one down at 374 yards.

I figured that was the end of the fun but I stayed put and kept on with some pup distress and another came in from the opposite direction and just happened to stop in a somewhat clear spot. I was pretty worried about a stalk deflecting this shot but it worked.

One more stand looked like it would pay off as one was charging in but the wind was wrong and it got in a low spot out of sight and never came out where I could see it. I'm sure I got winded on that one. All in all it was a good evening.

nice, you like that nocpix?
Well I think it's incredible but I don't have much to compare it to besides my old super Hogster. The biggest drawback to me would be it's weight compared to a brick style scope, this thing's a tank. One night last summer I followed my hunting partner around on one of his walkabouts and we stumbled around for 5 miles I swear and got a couple coyotes but I was ready to have something alot lighter than my setup after that.

But for normal night calling it's pretty awesome imo. It's held perfect zero across the whole year, the rangefinder works great at night, not so great in daylight for some reason but who cares. It's sensitive enough I use a square of orange masking tape as an aiming point when checking. The ballistics had an issue when I tested it last winter after getting it set up, the poi would change depending on the zoom. Nocpix has been excellent in putting out updates and without even asking all the issues have been taken care of. I love the dual batteries where you can hot swap the removable 18650. The included QD mount had perfect rtz the one time I checked it. I really like the recoil activated video now also, and the slow mo video that goes with that. One cool thing they could add is a remote for the rangefinder that could be velcroed to the gun like with the Eliminator.

So yeah, I like almost everything about it, and I've definitely shot coyotes I would not have even considered before.
