OK, what's so great about the AR?

What makes an AR different?from other rifles?

1)you can literally build one on a kitchen table from a bag of parts,,,step out the door and shoot it.

2)They are modular...like lego's,this fits this one,,that fits that one..and so on.

3)Never have to send them back, if something breaks(rarely ever will)a few bucks will buy most anything that will ever go bad.

4)You can change stocks,grips,forearm...to fit you,,,1000%customizable.

5)Sheer firepower,Never know when you may need it,,you may never need it but its there!

Doesnt someone cant remember who make a upper in 50bmg 416 barret and the 338?

I can only think of one rifle that I MIGHT build in the distant future that I would want/need, that I can't get in an AR15 or AR10 platform and that's the .338 Lapua Mag.

Other than that, I'll likely be using one of the two AR platforms for EVERYTHING from here on out. [/quote]

yessm, that was my quote. I MEANT that if you want one in a standard platform, you'll need to have a short action style caliber.

There are quite a few places that built bolt action uppers for the AR, and even a few that make uppers that will accept a side mag. Tactilite is the one I was referring to and as a custom gun shop, they will build you one in any caliber you want. Not just the 3 listed.

Serious bang bangs,,,for alittle over what a standard upper costs,,,,,hmm ive even got some bmg ammo laying around..X

Never had interest in the 50 and I've got access to a suppressed M99 Barrett in .416. All I'd have to do is ask if I really really wanted to hunt with it.

The .338LM or .375CT would be plenty of gun for me and just as much fun.

Not only that, but I'd likely go with the .338 because the .338 Phantom suppressor from YHM is a steal and if it performs the way my .30 Phantom performs, it will surely not disappoint.

Well,,,for me ,,,where i live it wouldnt make much sense,,,i posted that because The ar15 platform also hook you up with a 50 bmg,,or lapua,,cheaper than buying the whole rifle elsewhere,Most complete rifles are 2 grand plus,,this way all you need is a lower and 899 and shipping.

Because your Model 700 Remington or Model 10 Savage won't do this.
AR Crossbow
Now we need an AR blackpowder conversion

. One interesting feature, a lot of precision rifle shooters end up with a vertical grip stock on their bolt guns, all AR's have them.
