As an Oklahoma resident, I think this law passing is a great thing. I honestly never thought it would pass in the first place in our backasswards state. Starting Nov 1, we can open carry, but still cant buy 6pt beer or even wine sold cold. Got to get it warm at a liquor store!
Seriously though, even with the law passed, I have no plans to open carry. I have no opposition to anyone open carrying, but I just dont feel it is for me. I just personally feel that the whole world doesnt need to know that I am carrying. For those who choose to open carry...good for them! And I have gun within reach at all times. When I head to work in the morning, gun goes with me and its tucked in between the 60/40 bench in my truck. At work it sits right on top of my tool box. And it is on my hip any other time, whether its out to dinner with my wife or just heading to Wal Mart. I mainly like the law because I will no longer have to dress myself around my gun. No longer will I have to worry about printing or brandishing when I bend over.
I did however tell my wife that for one day, on Nov 1, I am going out with the 1911 on one hip, the super blackhawk on the other, both my Glocks in a dual shoulder holster rig, and the Kel-Tec on my ankle. Just to show my support for the 2nd ammendment!!
