PA Bobcat Tags?

stinks that we have to wait til octeber to findout. If they stop takeing apps on sept 8th or something like that they should post it on a website.

somebody awhile back told me that insurance companys brought in some cougars from out west, rather thiers in thruth behined that i cant honestly say, just kinda wondering if anybody else heard that..

The same tale was told when they found out there were coyotes in this state. The game commision denies it and i believe them. There is a few things i don't agree with, with the game commission, but i don't think they turned loose coyotes or cougars in this state. There were coyotes north and south of us,so it was a matter of time untill they made pa. there home. Mountain lions? Heck! i even heard there was big foot sightings. Next we will hear about old nessy swimming around in rays town lake. It's going to take more than talk to convince me there is mountain lions in pennsylvania. Not because the habitat is not good for them,it is,but right now i think it all is hear say.

I heard the same thing ROCKEY. A feller over the hill from here was supposed to have shot a coyote with a tag in it's ear. Nothing big, just a little metal clip. He called a # on the tag and the other party told him to look inside the ear for a tatto. He did and the 3rd party said that coyote was purchased by State Farm Insurance. I personally have no proof of any of this. Just a story that has been going around the neighborhood.
I can tell you this. The last 30 years I have been driving around Pa. I never hit a deer. Until 3 years ago. Since then I have hit TWO of them. Just after daybreak, you know, when things are just getting nice and gray out. Both of them were running like they were posessed. I can't prove it, but I say they were being chased! I would bet if they were, it was by a coyote or two. Between the 2 accidents I spent $13,500 insurance dollars. The big one was my Boss's car! $9,200 in damage. It WAS a nice car. The other was my then brand new Silverado. $4,300. I was still on the pink slip with it. OUCH!! I hope these accidents were coyote induced. Poetic justice I say. I think we should promote coyote stocking in Pa. The deer hunting is pretty much over, at least where I hunt. Long live the wily coyote! They are a blast to hunt. I love hearing them howl. And they are unmanagable. They can't get rid of them now for love or money. I hope to get out calling after all this rain myself. Good luck to all the lucky ones that draw Kitty tags. I can't wait to see if I am one of them. Shoot straight,R.J.

Keep your fingers and toes crossed fellas, according to the PGC website 5,000 applications were sent in this year.

"Top counties for those receiving bobcat permits are: Lancaster (39); Lycoming (36); Berks (34); Tioga (31); York (31); and Westmoreland (30). Also, of the 720 drawn for a permit, 27 were women."

Hopefully I'm the only one in Susquehanna Co. and Beagler's the one in Lackawanna Co. drawn /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Good luck to everyone, I dont know of anyone that has drawn since they started this. Let us know how you make out.

The Oct issue of PA Game News has a good story of a fella that drew a tag.
I feel like a kid during Christmas when I see the mail man.
I just wanna see some strange envelope from the PGC.

I think they should let us know also if we dont get one. Just so we know that our name wasnt drawn and the permit didnt gte post in the mail. God knows how well the mail system is. Ive had to pay some late charges on bill cuz of the mail not going through. Let is know if youve gottne yur tags yet.

I just talked to 2 guys that I know tonight. They have drawn tags, both these guys were from Columbia county. They are real good friends, so when they get their cats I know they will be coming to me to get mounted, horray!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
