I heard the same thing ROCKEY. A feller over the hill from here was supposed to have shot a coyote with a tag in it's ear. Nothing big, just a little metal clip. He called a # on the tag and the other party told him to look inside the ear for a tatto. He did and the 3rd party said that coyote was purchased by State Farm Insurance. I personally have no proof of any of this. Just a story that has been going around the neighborhood.
I can tell you this. The last 30 years I have been driving around Pa. I never hit a deer. Until 3 years ago. Since then I have hit TWO of them. Just after daybreak, you know, when things are just getting nice and gray out. Both of them were running like they were posessed. I can't prove it, but I say they were being chased! I would bet if they were, it was by a coyote or two. Between the 2 accidents I spent $13,500 insurance dollars. The big one was my Boss's car! $9,200 in damage. It WAS a nice car. The other was my then brand new Silverado. $4,300. I was still on the pink slip with it. OUCH!! I hope these accidents were coyote induced. Poetic justice I say. I think we should promote coyote stocking in Pa. The deer hunting is pretty much over, at least where I hunt. Long live the wily coyote! They are a blast to hunt. I love hearing them howl. And they are unmanagable. They can't get rid of them now for love or money. I hope to get out calling after all this rain myself. Good luck to all the lucky ones that draw Kitty tags. I can't wait to see if I am one of them. Shoot straight,R.J.
