Newsom Sending 800+ Police Officers to LA

California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced on Monday evening that he’s sending more than 800 additional law enforcement officers to Los Angeles as riots that have swept the city approach their fifth day.

“Chaos is exactly what Trump wanted, and now California is left to clean up the mess,” Newsom wrote in a post on social media platform X.

“I was just informed Trump is deploying another 2,000 Guard troops to L.A.,” California Gov. Gavin Newsom wrote in a post on X Monday.

The Pentagon later confirmed this in a social media post.

California Sues Trump Over National Guard Deployment​

California officials on June 9 sued President Donald Trump over his federalization of National Guard troops.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta and California Gov. Gavin Newsom, both Democrats, said in announcing the suit that Trump’s action was illegal.
Trump federalized troops over the weekend as riots broke out in Los Angeles County in opposition to arrests of illegal immigrants by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

He said, in a memorandum, “To the extent that protests or acts of violence directly inhibit the execution of the laws, they constitute a form of rebellion against the authority of the Government of the United States.”
Federal law enables the president to federalize Guard troops, which are typically under state command, if “there is a rebellion or danger of a rebellion against the authority of the Government of the United States” or if the United States “is invaded or is in danger of invasion by a foreign nation.”

they need to form a skirmish line and drive them into the ocean. some people have driven motorcycles thru the police lines, they didnt get far. i hope the police are prepared if someone drives a truck towards them.

The usage of the NG vs Active duty is the correct way to handle this.
posse comitias does allow the NG and Active duty to quell, and detain thugs under the direction and control of a LEO.

I especially appeached the California NG using paint ball markers on the rioters that was great serves two great purposes stings like hades and marks whom was involved for detention purposes.

Peaceable assembly pretty much means hold a sign, chant if you desire but that's about it. You pick up something to throw , destroy or attempt to destroy harm private or public property you have crossed into the label of roiter and terrorist.
 
OK dating myself here anyone remember the Democrat's (Mayor Charles Daley) answer to mostly peaceful protest in 1968 DNC Rally? I most certainly do Police openly used batons. Police dogs was actively released. NG was called in with fixed bayonets (of course sheathed) but the message was clear.

And the peaceful protest in May of 1970 in Augusta (note Augusta is in two states thus the GA and SC NG was used. Mayor's on both side of the state line was Democrats. Only In 1996 is when the cites of Augusta and North Augusta was consolidated).

What I find confusing about this one is the tales (lies) told now on the internet.

No Virginia, the rioters didn't burn down but a few "white" business's, all (99.9%) was either Chinese or Black owned business's as well as apartment's (North Augusta SC, yes Virginia the Democrat Mayor of N. Augusta kept the Fire Dept spraying down the White side of town letting the Rioters home burn) . The Ga NG pushed the Rioters back across the state line into the S.C. side. If you really seek the truth on that one ask someone whom lived there during that time.

These are just two examples of what I recall but every "mostly peaceful" protest that I do recall during the Late 1960's to 1970's had the same theme Democrat leadership, use of NG, outnumbered Police whom had a breaking point. Sorry but this thread just took me down memory lane, not attempting any political statements, or if the protest was just or not . Just stating the facts as I recall them.

The perfect “This is your brain on leftism” moment came when one of CNN’s legal guests, liberal law professor Jessica Levinson, was talking about how Trump was causing the escalation of these protests. Just then, the live split screen captured someone dropping a firebomb from a 101 freeway overpass onto a California Highway Patrol car.

ABC reporter should be arrested, as should the people having fun! So tired of the LEFT everything! Arrest, Incarcerate, Deport, Remove, Replace!
