Here is a coyote, bedded in a deep drifted fenceline. He never slung any dirt. I reckon he thought it would be a waste of energy? LOL!

I watched this pr bed down. Male already bedded, he spun in tight circles tamping the loose snow before laying. Female upper left, is tamping. Neither dug a hole, just to lay. A hunter might see a coyote or Red laying in a hole. But IMO, neither canine will dig a hole, just to bed for awhile. I've watched hundreds of coyotes & Reds bed down. NONE ever dug a hole, just to lay. None.

Dang Kirby, I miss the snow, spot-stalking already!!! Your pictures are great, and make me want to go out with my whites on! Fun to look at, since I can't wait till the snow is back.
