This gator was in a farm pond on some property I have permission to hunt. The owner mentioned to me he wanted him gone so I located a guy with gator tags for this county. We went up this week after the season opened and got this monster and another small 6 footer.

My Dad wanted to get in on the action so he went out with them and I filmed it from shore. However, after they killed the gator they had to come pick me up as it took 3 of us to get him in the boat. They held him and I had to lean my upper body under water on the side of the boat to wrap a line around him......he was so large that I could barely reach the rope hugging his torso just in front of his hind legs. This thing was massive

13' 2" 702 lbs.

My Dad and I checking his tonsils.

Just a pic to show perspective as to how large his head was.

When you see one that large and what appears to have some years on him, you have to wonder what all he's eaten over the years to get that big...

if troy see,s that he will challenge to the king of the swamp rematch!! nice gator!! make me a wallet!!!

Wow! That's one huge predator! My wife and I love to watch "Swamp People" on TV. I told her I would love to go gator hunting. Looks like fun and work at the same time.

Old Turtle....

Check out this quote from the article referenced in the link below...

"Rufus Godwin of Chumuckla, Florida, learned the fate of his missing hunting dog Flojo and six more hunting hounds when trappers slit the belly of a 500-pound alligator. Trappers found the dogs' tags and collars in the gator. Flojo, a $5,000 Walker fox-hunting hound, hunted in the forest about 45 miles northeast of Pensacola when she disappeared. Four days later, Godwin used the tracking device for her electronic collar to look for her. He caught a faint signal as did his friend with him from a collar worn by a dog he last had seen several weeks earlier. "When he walked up to this swamp hole, suddenly the boxes beeped continuously," Godwin said. "Because they went wide open, we knew then we were dealing with a gator." State-contracted gator hunters captured the 10-foot, 11-inch reptile. The belly of the beast contained a collection of dog collars, one from a hunting dog that disappeared 14-years ago. Biologists estimated the gator to be 50 years old".

Our gator weighed 200 lbs more than this one.

Anything over 600 pounds is a monster in my book, that is one heck of a nice reptile and I am sure that he has consumed quite a bit getting to the size that he is!

Great story and great pics!!!

That is 1 big gator could it be a record?
Are you going to have a full mount made out of him?
That would look good in your trophy room.

Our county has a drawing for 50 tags each year. The problem is I think it seems there's 50 gators in each square mile at this point. That's one animal that I have no love for. I'd at least preserve the jaws.

Wow that is crazy huge. Just the head on that thing!!! I have been to Florida a couple times and really enjoy it down there, always have wondered about the gators. Good story and pics!!

We was in Florida for a week long vacation about two months ago and went out on an air boat ride. We saw six gators in all with the biggest one being a little over ten feet. The size of the head on yours makes that 10 footer look like the 5 footer we saw. That thing is massive and I would love to have had the opportunity to of taken it.

702 pounds? Funny on Swamp People, anytime they kill one over 8 feet it's a "950 pound monster".

Nice kill... you should have enough belts to last you a long time.
