This afternoon I went out to sight in my 22-250 and to pattern some Remington Wingmaster HD 3" BB waterfowl loads.
I also took my 243 and my FOXPRO FX5. I counted the pellets in the Rem HD 3" BB 1-1/2 oz load and there was 73 pellets and I counted 98 pellets in the Federal Premium 3" BB 1-7/8 oz load. So the Federal 1-7/8 oz Premium load had 25 more pellets in it than the Rem HD 1-1/2 oz load. Shooting through a Carlson's Dead Coyote choke at 40 yards the Federal 1-7/8 oz load put 16 pellets on a paper plate and the Rem HD 1-1/2 oz load put 23 pellets on a paper plate. None of the Federal copper coated lead BB's penetrated through the 3/4" plywood the paper plate was taped to. About half of the Rem HD BB's went through the 3/4" plywood at 40 yards.
After shooting at paper I was ready to get in a few calls. In four stands I called in 5 coyotes but only got one shot off on the third stand. On the first stand I should of had a rifle not a shotgun and on the fourth stand I should of had a shotgun not a rifle.
