what cal?

I wouldnt mind trying one out in a .243. I've read both good and bad about them. I'm sure with a trigger job and fed what it likes, it would be pretty dang accurate as most remingtons are.

Good luck!!

I've had a few, The first thing I do is lighten the trigger pull, then I change out the stock. They all have shot really well.

Is changing the stock gonna help it that much, if your just hunting with it? How much would changing the stock improve your groups?

Thanks Bryan

If it was me the first thing I would do is lighten the trigger then go shoot it. I wouldnt change the stock unless it isnt shooting good. I never understood why so many people change the stock without shooting it first. My .02

Then why would you lighten the trigger before shooting it first? It may shoot just fine the way it is. My guess it will shoot better with the trigger worked on same with the stock. The standard stock may shoot ok it's just not an accecptable stock in my opinion. Denny

Me and my buddy won a couple in the regular sporter 22-250 sps. I worked over both triggers (put in wolf springs), and did a bunch of stock work on one of them. The one that is glass bedded consistently puts them all cutting each other or 1/4 MOA. The one left stock will consistently shoot about 1/2 MOA. Great guns either way you look at it and you definitely do not "need" a new stock.

In my opinion, being able to handload for a 22-250 is going to be what makes a big difference.

Becuase I havent found a factory gun that the trigger wasnt heavy. Its cheap and quick. That will improve the groups faster and cheaper than anything else. IMHO of course. Back to the topic. I agree that handloading will improve your shooting. I started reloading this year for my 22-250 and was amazed at the results. Good luck /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

I have one in .17 FireBall and like it a lot.....now, but it took some extra to get it to shoot good. It had way to much freebore and I couldn't get the bullets seated close enough to the rifleing to get excepable accuracy. Sent it off to my gunsmith and had him cut off a couple of threads from the barrel and rechamber with a zero freebore reamer. Shoots great now, but I had to pay the extra to make it happen.
