Me and my buddy won a couple in the regular sporter 22-250 sps. I worked over both triggers (put in wolf springs), and did a bunch of stock work on one of them. The one that is glass bedded consistently puts them all cutting each other or 1/4 MOA. The one left stock will consistently shoot about 1/2 MOA. Great guns either way you look at it and you definitely do not "need" a new stock.
In my opinion, being able to handload for a 22-250 is going to be what makes a big difference.
