Remington 700 VTR Rebarrel?

He's pretty good with emails too. I like to email smiths as a phone call keeps them from working.
I know another smith that does well too.

By the way, would anyone have any experience with Pac Nor as far a barrel + fitting? They have it priced at $300 including lapping and truing the action.

Also found a nice Mcmillan Rem classic in stock as well. Ordered it. I wasn't in a hurry, but it looks like I'll have this thing done in a month or less now.

Although the break makes it loud mine sure is a shooter

Good shooting Ed. Mine wasn't doing that for me. I found a couple of loads that were getting down around an 1", but I have trouble leaving well enough alone, you may can tell.

Anyway, hopefully be a fun project.

Here is a 243 Ackley with a Brux built by Greg and Southern Precision
Heck of a guy and and heck of a rifle builder
He can hook you up

That's a beauty of a rig you have there. I'm probably gonna go with a guy here in Texas, who's shop I can drive 30 mins to, that did my last one. The 5 month wait vs 1 month is a factor also.

I have no doubt you, Tim and the others that recommended Southern Precision know what you're talking about, and I appreciate your suggestions.

Had a vtr in 308, I had it rebarreled with a pac nor 3 groove #5 contour and I like it. Perfect weight for hunting and when it warms up it doesn't seem to affect that barrel shooting at the range.
