Remington 700 VTR

Once again you know everything about something you have never used.

This is what you said to me after I offered my opinion on the VTR. Before, this, I had never said a word to you. You read my opinion, didn't like it, and went on a tirade. This will be more than apparent to anyone who reads this thread. You lit the fire, if you can't take the heat after.......

I have owned over 200 rifles. I know that I don't like tupperware, brakes, or triangular barrels. Don't need to buy a VTR to figure this out. Deal with it.

It has nothing to do with affordability, or "mine is better", or any of the rest of the kind of crap you babbled on about.

By the way, crying to the Moderators about me behind my back was a pretty pussified move. Gonna try and deny it?

Now I'm done here, I'm sure all have had enough.....

Juliang,if you have any other questions you can PM me.I really like the rubber inserts on the Remington stock, when that stock is freezing cold or soaking wet it will still have a nice grip to it.Some people cant get over their preconcieved ideas of a products quality and insist on paying more for other products that usually dont perform any better. The VTR is great little rifle and its going to be a [beeep] nice pack rifle for back country muley hunts and stalking lopes on the prarie,oh yhe spring bear is just a short time away and I hope to church mine on a fat blackie.

I can't really see any difference in milling the barrel in 3 places and fluting it in 5 places???
I see the stock still has pressure pads up front like my LVSF, which probably does more to keep the stock from flexing and creating inconsistant pressure than it does for barrel harmonics.????????
I'm not going to run out and buy one, but I do like the looks of the VTR. Bet it would look even better with one of those green Leupolds on it.

At least you both agree on the 700's being a good choice... Everything else can easily be settled inside the Octagon.....

Carry On

I can actually spell, but you would not know it from my typing........ /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

Beeg Misteake /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I fixed the spelling (I Think) but I doubt there's much I can do about the typing. I'll try using a different finger and see if that works.... I think I know exactly which finger to use too... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif

Ok, I guess you 2 guys did not get my drift on the first post! We need to let it go NOW and get back to business. Thanks.

First off, i just traded off a Tacticool SKS i had and well over 2000 rds 7.62x39 ammo for my first VTR...I have no clue where all the hatred comes from for it's looks...the future is about trying new designs and concepts ( a car show would suck if they all looked 2much alike) *sorry, couldn't resist*

I have always been a .270 shooter and it took alot for me to move up to the .308, but the VTR made that happen...It was just the sort of "different" that i was looking for in a rifle. Just like Mossberg coming out with their 4x4 line, you have to push the limits...older shooters are becoming the shooters of yesterday, younger and newer shooters are the future of hunting and this sport. there will always be that wood grain 30-30 that grand dad prefers, but i see nothing wrong puttin some new shoes on your feet (feet haven't changed much since 2000BC, but i bet jesus didn't wear hiking boots! as much as he would have wanted them...lol)

gun companies will always be making new designs, the 92 from Berretta took a wild turn, and that's our country's sidearm! personally i carry a Springer 1911, but in 9mm...because that's the round I prefer...and because it is and always will be a reliable platform!!!

Getting back to the VTR, she shoots just as true as any other 700 Remmy...the comp is neither great, nor horribly detrimental to accuracy. I will be keeping mine, as well as my A-bolt .270! and I can't believe that guy took the time to look up all that dude's posts to find one that had an Abolt "for sale"??? That is true troll behavior man, just log onto the richman's hunting lodge.com and discuss the black bear hunting season with your STI & Kimber 10mm's...or when you guys hire the movers reorganize your personal armory's...LOL
