I've wanted an XP-100 ever since I first saw them in Field & Stream when I was 10.
So fast forward 30 years or so
. . . well the good news is at least now I can afford one. . . I'd use it for predators and variments.
Setting aside cost, availability, and other mundane practical concerns, the question is what caliber?
Option A: Leave it as God and Remington intended: .221 Fireball. Ignore the issues this causes with brass availability, etc, etc, etc.
Option B: Get real and get a .233. Cheap and readily available everything and gives up nothing to the .221 FB.
Option C: .22-250. PITA to find one, but if/when I do, well, p-dogs had best be afraid. Very afraid.
Option D: 7 BR or some other bigger-than-.22 caliber. Why use a hammer when you can use dynamite?
Option E: Some other bizzaire wildcat caliber that just got invented last week. Major gun range street cred can only come via a major pain in the [beeep].
Don't just tell me what you own or would get, tell me WHY.
