Last year I got all excited to get into "calling"...then I got busy and only made it out once!
I bought a JS convert a caller and plugged in an MP3 player with a bunch of digital JS distress sounds and the azden remote setup, etc. The one time I went out it just seemed like more trouble than it's worth with the remote, 3 power switches, 4 different batteries, etc.
Question is, does it really make a difference to have the "remote" with the call a good distance from you? Or could a guy get by with just running the speaker out away from the hide 20 yard or so?
It seems much easier to bag the azden remote/MP3 player idea and just throw in a cassette and let it play? (mostly because I'll only go out and call a few times a year)
If I do go this route and I only call a few times a year, what tape would you guys recommend playing?
