Ruger Trigger

actually doing a trigger job on a ruger is quick easy. sometimes it takes longer to take it out of the stock than it does to fix the trigger. Take the barreled action out of the stock and notice the single pin that holds the mechanism in place. Drift the pin out and there is a single spring which provides all the tnesion. Go down to a hardware store and fing a similar spring but much lighter and replace the original one. DO NOT CUT off the original or replacement. if you do you will screw up the engagement. If this isn't enough, then hone the surfaces a bit. I've found that just with the right spring I can get a 2# trigger with no effort whatsover.

Actually the Trigger on the Ruger MK II VT is different than on the Sporters. The Trigger on the Ruger MKII VT is adjustable, and is indeed a two stage trigger.

You can view an article that explains the Ruger MKII VT Trigger Adjustment at this site.

Good luck with the trigger.

Larry

PS this is not to be confused with the Blued / Walnut Ruger M77V with the Tang Safety.
