Short Magnums

I shoot a Sako A7 Tecomate 300wsm. It is an absolute tack driver with 168 gr Nosler Ballistic tips and H4350. I don't have too many rifles that will shoot an honest ragged hole at 100 yards and one of them is my biggest calibers. I have a couple targets in my shop that measure under .45" for 5 shots. Fun gun to shoot.

I have a Browning ShortTrack semi auto in .300WSM. Don't have a good data base on its accuracy but it has never missed a beat function wise.

Just got a wild hog with it. Again, not an accuracy challenge, a 30 yd head shot. But I enjoyed getting my first game animal (I'm not much of a hunter) with a handload. 165 gr Nosler AccuBond at 3140 fps. Don

I have a Rem 700 in 300 WSM, it was a special run for Gander Mtn a few years ago, it came with a 26 inch fluted barrel and a laminated thumbhole stock that I have replaced with a B&C Medalist Alaskan ii. It is a sweet shooter and will shoots 180 and 200 grain Noslers very well. I previously had a Rem model 7 in 300 SAUM that was a real nice gun but did not shoot worth a sh**. I traded it for the 300 WSM.

Yeah it likes heavier (180 grainers) compared to lighter bullets

That light, it must be a significant shoulder thumper. Don

300 WSM is hard to beat. I switched from a 300 RUM and I'm glad I did. With the shorter barrel and the shorter action, the gun is a dream to hunt with. I can shoot 2" groups (or better) all day long with factory ammo at 200 yards.

My X-Bolt loves 180 grains but my buddies Tika T-3 lkes the 165 grainers better.

I chambered a .358 WSM for a customer and added throating so he could shoot the Nosler 225gr. It looks like an ICBM! Very accurate. He loves it.

I had a 300wsm A-Bolt that really shot good. I still have a 100 yd target with 10 shots that can be covered by a quarter using 168gr TSX. Problem is I no longer have the rifle, dangit!

Savage M12, Accu-Trigger, blued, not Accu-Stock. Shoots
168 Barnes bullets into sub-MOA groups. Really like the
300 WSM cartridge. So much, I am waiting for a Winchester
M70(FN CRF) in Stainless/B&C Stock, to surface in the
rifle pipeline somewhere.

Squeeze

1st series Vanguard in 300WSM. Shoots factory Accubonds into 7/8" 5-shot groups, out to out. $400 nib in 2003. It's a pre-MOA program rifle.

Winchester Model 70 in .223 WSSM. It has feeding issues, but it’s accurate and kills Texas coyotes and hogs like the hammer of Thor.

Had a custom 223 wssm it shot like nobody's business with certain wait brass and they had to be within a grain of each other which is almost impossible to do with the wssm. Out of 400 pieces of brass I think I had 15 that were good for the gun, I eventually sold it. The next custom I build will be a 7 wsm it to me seems to be the best, 180 grain Berger at 2900-3000 fps is a deadly machine.
