Big failure on the part of the USSS in their venue threat assessment. That elevated location should have been physically manned at minimum by local LE.
I've worked with USSS in the past as part of local LE support and have attended briefings. They always seemed thorough and detailed. This location was overlooked at minimum or outright dismissed as a concern... why? You don't have to have specialty training to have identified that location as a potential threat.
Also, I'm hearing reports that increased USSS security, despite elevated threat conditions, were denied... why? Money and cost... that's why.
I honestly believe this is the tip of the iceberg and we will see more attempts on the lives of those trying to restore our great country back to being America.

Yes,,the 64 million dollar question., HOW and WHY could such an evident elevated location be overlooked and not be manned or under surveillance.
Money and cost, think 9/11, Israel never had a plane hijacked due to secured cockpit doors. cost too much to do in the US, but after 9/11 it didn't cost too much, sure seems like something bad needs to happen before something doesn't cost too much!

Funny you posted the above Stu, I just read two "opinions" this morning where they are saying it's Trumps rhetoric that is the cause of all the division and one of them called for the complete cleansing of the Republican party. Maybe they should take a look at what the Democrats have been saying and doing ever since he became president, nothing but relentless negative attacks on him, lying to congress, outright lying to the American people about certain policies, lawsuits by Trump hating prosecutors in blue districts where they know the odds are the highest that they can get a guilty verdict, impeaching him which was mentioned almost immediately after he was elected, and many other things like when Nancy Pelosi tore up his speech

Dr. Mark Siegel, very astutely, attributed the survival of President Trump to divine intervention this morning on FOX news.
After watching the video of that moment again, I have to agree with the good Dr. He pointed out the fact that, had the bullet which struck the president's ear struck 1/2" to the right it would have surely been fatal, and that the president turned his head to the left just milliseconds before the bullet struck. Please pray for our nation, President Trump & his family as well as those killed & critically wounded and their families.
