It's been a loooong time (about 25 yrs) since I reloaded any rifle cartridges. I just don't shoot that much any more. Hopefully that will change soon. But, when I did I tried a 87 gr btsp (.243 Win.) from Sierra. It shot groups of .338 with the 1st group I tried. That bullet/loading always shot .5 or less. ( I got lucky as this was the 1st load I tried)
I never looked back or for another "paper punching" load. Don't *&^% with perfection.
By the way that was in a stock Rem. 700.
I also used a lot or Sierra 150 and 125 grain hollow cavities in .357 and some 110 in .38. I was happy with the accuracy and the performance I perceived so I saw no reason to change that which was working for me.
