Small Rifle Primers - FYI

Very high price. The last time I had primers and powder shipped the hazmat was only $20. Has it gone up or it that just them charging that price?

Just stopped at a new gun shop in the area , his price on federal small rifle primers was $59.99 per 1000 , told him to keep them. stopped at the shop i normally deal with and paid $37.50 for the same thing.(so much fer the new guy and me doing anymore business)

I bought 4000 CCI small Benchrest primers last summer for $54.99 per 1000, and I thought that was abit high but they had them in stock with no limit so I bought 4 bricks to have extras on hand. I was lucky enough to stock up a decent supply before all this latest stuff hit the fan. I got cought with low supplies 4 years ago, and don't want to go through that again if I can help it. Good Luck guys on finding any deals in the near future.----Riflemann

I just bought CCI small pistol at Sportsmans Warehouse 2 days ago for $28/1000. I am seeing all primers about that price when they have them in stock. People need to not pay the over inflated prices. If a company is not making any sales, they will bring the prices back where they are supposed to be.

Powder Valley still has Tula SR.223 primers for $20/1000. These are the same as the Wolf 223 primers. I have used them in my AR, my .223 bolt gun and my sons 22 Hornet. They are good primers, not one has failed.

$27.50 seems to be the going rate all over.

With the Tula primers at $20 each, after the Haz-Mat fee...with a 4k purchase, it evens out, I think. I may have to make an order...

The local small shops have their's at around $25 to $30/1000 as of a couple of weeks ago. Not sure what they can get in now. Those Powder Valley Tula 223's are about $25/1000 shipped with the haz mat if you order 10,000 @ $250 total. Not relaly worth screwing my local shops outta the $3 or so here. AT $40/1000, different story???

I'd love to support local shops, but it's a bit of an issue for me right now. I'm trying to get a decent stock for when I get home.

Yeah, that'd be a problem where you are now!! LOL!! Stay safe, man.

It Stinks when we have only 1 gun shop in Fargo, (Scheels) that sells any reloading supplies, We had a Sportsmans Warehouse that closed over a year ago, and Gander mountain no longer sells any reloading stuff. I have to travel at least 80+ miles to the next nearest gun store that carries reloading supplies, which is another Scheels and a Cabelas.

I order everything for my reloading from Midway, the only thing I get local is primers and powder

Myself and two other guys went in on a Powder Valley order. 20k primers with hazmat split 3 ways makes a pretty good deal. I've been using wolf and tula for the last couple years in small and large pistol and rifle. No problems so far.

You in Osan or Kunsan?

So after reading this thread last night, I went to Powder Valley and they were out of stock on Tula small rifle primers. I guess I was a little too late getting there. No worries though, I'm in good shape on SR primers. Just never hurts to have more;)

They only have the 'sr223' in stock for Small Rifle.
