Stoney point rapid pivot bipod

The idea is great but the design is garbage. The rubber yoke will slit on you and then you will call Bushnell and they will tell you to send it back to be looked at which time will cost you 20 bucks just for return shipping. An they won't just send you a replacement part. Used mine one time and they split. JUUUUNK!! Why the [beeep] hasn't Harris come out with a 360 degree swivel bipod? They'd control the market

This will make the fourth season I have been using these. I think they do a pretty good job combining the solid feel of a bipod and some of the convenience of sticks. I have never had a problem with mine either.

I just started using my Rapid Pivot this year. But I've been fairly rough with it, stretched and flexed it a ton and no problems so far. I certainly wouldn't paint the rubber yoke, the solvents in the paint might do bad things when they react with the rubber.

I'm on my second one, the rubber yoke on the first one split. The rubber yokes don't fair well in cold temperature's. I emailed Bushnell Canada and they told me to take it back to where I bought it for an exchange. This all went very smooth but I since only use the rapid pivot bi pod when the temps. are 0 F or warmer.

Those of you that have had yours break must be hunting in some tearibly cold weather. This will be the 4th or 5th season using mine and i hunt every weekend and alot during the week after work. I hunt with them well below freezing all the time and quite a few times below zero and havent had a problem. I will continue to use it until it does break if it ever does. In which case ill go buy another one. By the far the best bipod out there in my opinion. Doesnt add weight to your gun when carrying it and dont need to have several bipods for different guns.

I used a friends both Fri and Sat nights while out calling. I was not very impressed. For me they do not adjust quickly or easily enough. On uneven ground which it alwasy is it took to long to get them even. I have the short primos bipod trigger stick I think it is alot quicker and easier.

Just my opinion,
Gabe

Yes

The rubber yoke definitely doesn't like the cold temperatures. Mine broke on the second use and it was in the 20's. I'm going to see if I can't come up with something a little different (better) using the existing pieces.

Well it isn't cold weather. Just bad rubber. I had a new one split now as well.

I have several sets of the Rapid pivots and I have seen 2 types of rubber on them. In the beginning when the poles were black and had the gold tag sticker, the rubber was much better.

Now since Bushnell took it over, they must have changed the formula or something because I have had 2 split as well. And this business about sending it back with a $10 to return repaired is plain crap but it is absolutely what they tell you.

If you can find an old set of bipods, they are worth the price. If it is the new gray set, walk away. I have tried to contact them about this, but I get left on eternal hold.

If anybody out there has had this same experience, please let me know and I will compile a list and get their attention.

Have had the black ones for 5 yrs and just bought a grey set and have split already. Mark me down on the split rapid pivot list. They best find a fix for this or they are going to lose alot of sales. Most buy based off the info they get here.RR

Just a quick update. I decided that I was going to stay on hold until I got someone. I told him what was happening and after a long conversation about the issue, he is sending me a new set from stoney point. (didn't say anything about returning the other one).

So if you have a set from them, call and complain and maybe with enough of the screwed up ones, they will get the hint. But keep posting, even if the replacements are garbage too. The more numbers that are bad, the better. ;-)

I got two new replacement yokes from Bushnell. One of them was showing signs of splitting before ever being used.

Yeah, they have some kind of a rubber formula or molding problem.

CJDavis,

Put me down for one split yoke after first use. I went through the same you did word for word but they never offered to send me a new one. I would had to pay to have it shipped back for them to look at it. They are JUNK!!!

Maybe it is just the newer ones that are breaking. The ones my cousin and I have are the black version with the gold emblem on them. Weve had them going on five years and no signs or wear what so ever. Couldnt be happier with mine but it does suck that some of you are having problems. Feel free to send me the adapters if you want. I'll even pay shipping!!! LOL Hopefully the get this resolved in a timely manner. Good hunting, Josh
