I know there are a few that ride on here and might be a few that would appreciate even if not so I thought I would share.
My wife and I have both ridden Harleys for years. We've managed to travel a little here and there on the bikes but usually its me who takes a long(ish) bike trip every summer. This year she informed me that she wanted to ride her bike to Sturgis. We've never been to Sturgis ourselves but it just so happens we have some family and close friends who go every year. So the plans we made and penny pinching started in the Spring. All summer the anticipation has been building for this trip and I kept thinking that something would happen to keep us from going. We traveled through some beautiful country there and back..The sand hills of Nebraska, South Dakota plains, Black Hills, Badlands, Wyoming, Eastern Colorado, western Kansas. I really couldn't help it, I kept thinking I'd love to hunt here...Which was everywhere! You fellas up North have some great grounds to hunt on and there were places I must make it back to someday.
BTW, my wife made it! She rode her bike there and back and only rode with me on the scenic rides so we could take it all in together and talking about it as we were going down the road. I doubt she'll ever know just how proud of her I am.
This was the night before we left. All packed and loaded.
750 miles, a rain storm, a great breakfast, $600 in repairs to a friends bike later she made it to Sturgis.
We quickly got our camp set up so we could relax a bit before heading downtown
First Evening downtown, Even the seasoned people said it was more crowded than normal.
Now downtown was great and there are many different kinds of people but this is what I came for!
My wife & I on my bike in Spearfish Canyon!
