Super Quiet Around Here .....

We haven't had any good success calling anything in in this area. No howls. No coyote activity. A fair amount of fox but I'm not killing fox this time of year that's not messing with my lambs/chickens. We haven't heard a peep from the local coyote population

Any ideas? We're using a foxpro and my buddy does the majority of the calling. But no answers at many different areas. Are they just still denned up? Northeast PA.

Thanks!

Greene Co., PA SW corner. 4 nights out with 14 sets in the last 2 weeks. Had a group of pups answer me from 5-600yds away Thurs. night and that is all I have heard. Have only seen 1 in those outings and it was mousing about 400yds away in a pasture on the next hillside and wouldn't give me the 'time of night' no matter what I threw at it.
Heard 2 from the house one night a couple weeks ago and 2 mournings in May when trying to get a gobble I had a coyote answer my howls. That is all I have heard since mid-March here.
Normally in mid-Aug. they get vocal on their own here but that did not happen last year. Hope it gets back to normal this year.

Moon phase/weather? Moving about during the day.

wow 69 degrees F .... it's usually 90 to 100 here during the day.

Looks like you need to hit during the day (mornings) maybe...

Season in Michigan opened up yesterday. Went out to a property where they had been seeing coyotes on camera since turkey season. Ran through the gambit of calls, coyotes, coyotes pup distress, prey, etc., and didn't get a single response or sighting. Gonna try the property at some point closer to the fall, but it was very quiet. Hope this isn't a precursor for the season.

IMO the pressure has gotten so out of control in PA with callers they are becoming fewer and further between, and much more resilliant to come storming into a call

Coyote have such a large territory and are smart.
They'll move to a safe area if pressured and won't leave until food runs out and they feel the need to breed.
In NY they get a six month reprieve from April - October to reproduce.
