Suppressors ####Updated guys#####

The other benefit not mentioned is that cans are a very effective muzzle break. Significant recoil reduction. Honestly, I don't care to even shoot my unsuppressed rifles. There will be a changeover in my gunsafe!

So what happens if for some reason the ATF denies you? Your out the $200. Plus you'd still have to pay for the suppressor? Of do you think they would just send it back? The sheriff here is a arms dealer also.. If i got everything ordered through him I have to pay for the product before he orders it.. Then I'm out the money all around if it got denied..Dont know why it would get denied, just worry about everything..

If you can legally own a firearm, then you can legally own a suppressor. (depending on your state) There is no difference legally between a gun and a suppressor and would be no reason to be denied as long as you do your paperwork correctly.
In the 4 years I've spent researching and discussing with owners, I have only ever heard of ONE instance when someone was denied and it was because he didn't have his Form 4 printed front/back on the paper.
They sent it ALL back to him, forms, check...everything, it was re-printed correctly, and sent back off and approved no problem.

I am just going to have to find somewhere to shoot one, i believe all what yall saying , but then i have the same amount of guys telling me different and i have watched alot of videos of guys shooting them with supersonic and sub's and they is a BIG difference in sound, I just dont want to pay $1000 and it not do much unless iam shooting subsonic rounds.

As far as recoil , i am not worried about that at all i shoot a TC Prohunter 375 h&h Deer hunter , so the little 223, 6.5 and 6x45 wont be nothing. Just wanting it for the noise deal. Thanks guys for all the help.

When i get the stubbornness to find an NFA lawyer I will have an NFA trust drawn up. There is no love for the "bad stuff" in williamson county.

If you can protect your hearing why wouldn't you buy one? I am going to as soon as I can. I will probly buy 3 of them.

If I could lawfully own one, that paperwork would be in and I'd be in for at least 3. I'd like to begin a proposal to allow these in MN. We'll see what I can muster up.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the sonic boom won't be heard by the intended target unles you miss that target, and the round goes past the target.
Suppressing the gas blast , shot fired sound, would keep the intended target from locating the sorce.
That's the purpose of the can, not revealing the sound sorce - location and allowing second targets and or no detection.

Could be all wet, but that's my take on the suppressors purpose..

For me the purpose is hearing protection. The sonic crack is still disruptive. It would be awesome to see MN change the class 3 position. It can be done! Good luck!

You're spot on. It's never fun to miss, but it is fun to witness an unsuspecting animals reaction to a sonic boom when they have no idea where it's coming from.
If you've been spotted, they can put 1 and 1 together and still get 2, but if they are unaware of your presence and you miss, they usually just look around like..."WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT?"

This is a video we put together in response to a post on SILENCERTALK.COM questioning the reaction of other deer when one is shot with a suppressed rifle.

I've posted it before, but the reaction is still worth it.

Skip to about 2:00 if you want to bypass the stalk.

Sounds like you cant go wrong that way.
One of the guys I work with wanted me to thread the end on one of his barrels, and I had to say no because I wasn`t sure if it would be legal for ME to do it?? Anyway I think the Smith only charges like $60.00
Now you got me interested....MUST RESIST..lol

Billy,
Glad you were able to contact someone near you. I wish I had someone that close to me. There are several guys that could make one, but I want one that is legal.

I am almost there, I just need a little bit more.

Yes this is going to be good , he has all his stuff in line so all i have to do is get my stamp and LEO to sign off on it.

So who are gonna go with? Who is the guy or company that you are going to play with? I am interested, especially at a price like that.

I have heard that several guys saying that they buy a can for 30 cal, but my bigger guns don't have bull barrels, just my varmint guns. So I think I will just get the 5.56 for my .223 and the 22-250 and my .22 mag and my 10/22.
