Suppressing the gas blast , shot fired sound, would keep the intended target from locating the sorce.
That's the purpose of the can, not revealing the sound sorce - location and allowing second targets and or no detection.
Could be all wet, but that's my take on the suppressors purpose..
You're spot on. It's never fun to miss, but it is fun to witness an unsuspecting animals reaction to a sonic boom when they have no idea where it's coming from.
If you've been spotted, they can put 1 and 1 together and still get 2, but if they are unaware of your presence and you miss, they usually just look around like..."WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT?"
