I have one in 10x, none side focus version, mounted on a Savage 12FV .308. So far I really like it, it's nice and clear, the mil-dot reticle is just the right size for my eyes also. I replaced the turret O-rings on mine with smaller diameter ones, it give a little more "feel" to the adjustment. They seem really well made and the price is good for a 30mm tube scope. I plan to buy some more of them, especially when the variable models come out between now and spring.

I bought one about 5 years ago and mounted it on a Rem 700 Sendero in 25-06 caliber for long range PD's.

I have used it for quite a few PD sessions over the last 4 summers, and I have cranked the dials up, down , and sideways and the point of impact always comes back to zero when I'm finished. Overall, I have been very pleased with the one I have.

However, I have also read reports by others who have not been pleased with theirs for various reasons from clarity, adjustment repeatability, etc. I don't know if I just got a good one or if the other reports are on the few bad ones out there.

I just know I'm pleased with the one in 16x power that I have in all respects. And it compares favorably with a couple of Leupold VX-III's that I have as well as several other makes of scopes that I own costing more that the SS that I also use for PD shooting.

With all that said, I'd probably buy another one if needed. But, for various reasons that have nothing to do with the SS scope itself, I might just as easily buy something else the next time, too.

How's that for sounding overly pleased and still being wishy-washy? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I've got one on my AR10 and it works very well my son just put one on his new 50BMG.
If you want to spend more money you can get a better scope
But there hard to beat in their price range.

I had a 16x one on my .30-06 for a while. It came with the rifle when i bought it. It didn't have any trouble holding zero but it was way too much magnification for hunting so i sold it to my brother. he put it on his savage tactical .308 and he loves it. For the price I think they are agreat value.

I have had my 10x42 super sniper for about 5 years, its been on 2 .223, never had any problems with it. The December issue of Shooting Times has an artical about it.

A few yrs ago. I put 20X on my .223 AR. Good glass, held zero. Excellent for long-range coyote taggin. Two things, I didn't like about my scope. Were the turrent post "set- screws" they often worked loose...[non-nurled posts].

Also, hard to keep "tagged-runners" in the crosshairs.

guy's i have a question about the 10x model.what would be the general use for this scope.i guess what i'm trying to say is what would be the minimum and maximum ranges for hunting and target for this scope.thank's

A 10X works fine even at 1000 yards if it has good resolution. On something that might move, like a coyote, I would not want that much power inside 400 yards. I use a 10X scope on one of my ground squirrel rifles and frequently wish for lower power at even 250 yards. It takes too long to locate the target in the small field of view.

jack thank's for your reply what about deer size game?would it be to hard to pick up a deer in the woods say under 100yrds?i do not take shot's at moving deer.

I would not want to try shooting deer inside 100 yards with 10X, the field of view is too small. If the deer is very close all you can see is fur and it is hard to tell what part of the deer you are sighting on. For deer my first choice would be a 2-7X variable or a fixed 4X, certainly no more than 6X and that only if hunting pretty open country.

thank's again jack i will wait and see if they come out with a variable version.i really like the scope and it seem's to offer alot for the price.

I had a friend tell me some years ago to buy only the Tascos that were made in Japan. I've heeded that advice and been quite satisfied with Tasco, mostly 6x24s. I use them mainly for 6mm and smaller so I can't say how they would do on a fierce kicker, but don't plan on finding out. Best wishes.
