Tennessee Hunting

I'm going from another angle.

I'm trying to get some info. on having a hunt on Catoosa WMA. Maybe a special permission hunt or something of that nature.
E-mailed them a little while ago.

We'll have to see what becomes of it.

Still trying,
James

Great, just be sure to tell them about the chili ban that will be in force. LOL ?Go for it man.

WMA.
I have trapped it some and Turkey hunted it alot. Plenty dogs down here.

Hey neighbor,
Where are the Duck River WMA boundries?
I don't get over that way much anymore, but that might be another good place to get some yotes.
Are you an experienced coyote hunter? I'm still a newbie, but there are a lot of great guys on this forum that sure are helping me out a lot.
My son and I are going to try to go this evening if the weather will permit.

Hello nieghbor. Naw, I ain't no pro at this. About the only coyote I shot had a steel bracelet around his foot...LOL!
Shot a couple while deer hunting and shot at a few during bow seson too.
Have em come in while turkey huntin alot last year.
Only draw back to this place is that outside of deer seson, you can only posess a d*** shotgun or remfire while on the area.
Just though some close range huntin with the ole ultimag might get your jucies flowing..LOL!

Thanks for the good words but it was Bopeye who just grew another year older and whose idea it was for all of us to get together for a hunt.
I am his hunting partner, but I haven't had a birthday in the past ten years.

Smokepole shooter... yep, me too! I started shooting the front stuffers way back in 1969... My first one was a 45 cal. full stock Kentucky, made by an old blackpowder rifle builder from White County near Sparta, Tn.
Where is Whitehouse,Tn?

tuscaroraranger,
You have some fine Predator Masters over there in your neck of the woods, there's getting to be a good mess of guys from all over TN and the east who drop by here.
Kingston is about 40 miles west of Knoxville and about 30 miles east of Crossville @ I-40.

Thought I'd bring this back to the top, so the folks that haven't been here long can see some of the ideas we have had for getting a hunt together.

It's also packed full of alot of the info. some people are asking about.

Anyone know where to hunt this time of year in west tn? I'm in atoka in tipton county and looking to do more than just kill an occasional coyote while deer hunting. Anyone that is willing to show me the details of calling them in would also be appreciated.

Sniper,

Use the "search" button and read like crazy. There's tons of info. on here.
In case you haven't noticed, we will be having a get together at LBL in February. Please feel free to join us. Probably learn more there in a couple days than you could in a couple years by yourself.

Sounds good to me. I have only been to LBL a couple of times but that was turkey hunting about 5 years ago. Now I just have to decide on which gun to use, my 270 with 140gr. bt or a 243. Just have to take one with both I guess. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Sniper10cd,
Howdy and welcome! If you want to get stared predator hunting you have found a great place and a fine bunch of guys that will help as much as they can. Like Bopeye said check out the planned LBL hunt and the past posts. I have never hunted Tipton county but if I lived there I would start by checking with the farmers or ranchers in your area. Do a little public relations work, ask if they have seen any coyotes in their area. Often they will say “yep, saw three yesterday” or “some got into my livestock last week and killed a calf” now your foot is in the door. Inform them that you are interested in coyote hunting, most ranchers will gladly let you come hunt coyotes if you present yourself as a sportsman. All it takes is one or two places to start off, as time goes on you will have more places to hunt than time to hunt. For years I hunted alone but now Bopeye and I are calling partners. When we first started hunting together we called several small farms where I had permission to hunt. As more property owners learn of our reputation as coyote hunters they are looking us up. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Now we have properties in over five counties where we have exclusive permission to hunt coyotes.

Good hunting,
coyotehunter
