So I picked one up at a local store here with a good return policy. First off, I spent a lot of time looking it over closely and I think it's really well made. I think it's a really quality product. But at the same time, I'm not sure yet if it's for me.
In comparison to Humpness and his loud pack, this one is not as bad. It does make some noise at the bottom of the frame, but you have to almost try to make it do so. It is tight though. I would think it would loosen up some. Maybe in cold weather it may tighten and get worse.
My concern is more fit for me personally. It's amazingly comfortable, but awkward. I could fall asleep in this thing easy. But the legs are too short to me. FYI - I'm 6-1 and 215lbs. They need to be 2-4 inches longer so I could be a bit more upright. I am testing this though on a flat floor. I suppose a slight incline would help quite a bit. Also, when sitting with the shoulder straps on, it is really restrictive. I can't really turn at all. Just bringing my rifle to my should is very difficult to get my cheek down on the stock. I'm left handed and shoot off my left shoulder. If something comes to my left, I can forget about it. There's no way I can swing
However, if I slip out of the harness and then just sit down in it like a chair, it's great! Then I can move easily and it's really stable. Do you guys who use it slip out of the harness once your sitting?
PS: One last thing, we know they are marketing this to predator hunters, but I think it's a good all around pack for the right person. Even glassing for big game on a hillside would be so comfortable.
