Sorry, i dont judge people due to their religion. Unlike you, i recognize that we have the right to worship any god in this great nation. Your sig. states you do otherwise. I dont hate jews, i dont hate muslims and i dont hate god. YOU are the one who hates on a religious basis.
Ya know, MS's sig makes sense to me. There just reaches a point when one has to open their eyes and confront reality. As Americans, we hold freedom of religion dear and take the thought of religious persecution very seriously, as we should.
On the other hand, if you have a religion that calls, literally, right in it's holy book, for non-believers to be beheaded and whose followers are actually doing it, including to Americans, then we cannot pretend and stick our heads in the sand. Their stated goal is conversion to Islam or death. We've already been seeing a fair amount of death.
This religion is medieval and its practitioners control entire countries, some possibly with the ability--or at least will have soon--to make a nuclear first-strike against the US. They have colonized Europe in great numbers in a very, very rapid period of time. Not coincidentally, anti-Semitism in Europe has soared, it's now at 1930's levels in places like France. Guess where that came from?
Here's the disturbing part: despite all the terror, all the murder, torture, etc., etc., the 'moderate' practitioners are overwhelmingly silent! There is NO widespread condemnation from within opposing the torture and terror. To me that makes a huge difference. They condone it by their silence--at least in mt view. Imaging the international outcry if in the US women were being stoned to death as punishment for having been raped, since that is what the holy book's law called for? This isn't some Cursades thing 1200 years ago, it is right now.
As to Israel, these folks (most, obviously) hate the Jews--always have--and they don't want Israel to even exist. Period. They don't actually care much about the Golan Heights, West Bank or Gaza Strip, which, of course they have back and use as a convenient place to launch rockets at Israeli civilians. Israel is a western style democracy and our only friend in this critical region.
To these people, the Muslim ideological leaders and their hordes of followers, there is no difference between politics/state and religion. They are one in the same.
Again, I do agree with your general premise, that we should not bother someone because of how they chose (or don't) to worship God. But in this case MS's point is very well taken and we have to see the world as it is.
I will admit my bias. As a Christian, I do have deep concern for the Jewish people and I worry about the survival of their state. I also worry that so many here in the US vote with the political party least committed to Israel and which contains such a large number of anti-Semites, especially on college campuses.
