the no more pennies scam

i believe we are being conned. there are billions of pennies in circulation. plenty enough that there shouldnt be any shortage. stores are rounding up and down, this will make them millions more over the actual price of the product.

there are cheaper ways to make pennies for less than a penny.

i think one of two things are happening

1. on the way to a cashless society, then they track and control everything

2. Tax Increase of 4 more cents on the dollar, rounding up to a 10 Cent sales tax

then everything we buy would have to end in a 5 or a 0

they cant actually come out and say we are going to increase the sales tax to 10 cents with out a lot of pushback but if they do it this way over time we will accept it, no questions asked.

maybe, maybe not.....but why not make pennies out of a cheaper material like steel. the Government is lying for some reason

AI Overview

Making pennies out of steel (specifically copper-plated steel) would significantly reduce production costs, likely bringing them
well under one cent per coin. While current zinc-based pennies cost over 3 cents to make, switching to steel—which costs around 36 cents per pound—would eliminate the losses currently experienced by the US Mint.

Door number 1, cashless society.
"He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads,
and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark orfn the name of the beast, or the number of his name (Revelation 13: 16-17)".
We aren't there yet, but that day is bidding its time.

ya... there are a quarter of a TRILLION - aka 250 BILLION pennies in circulation. minimum.

that is however counting all the ones i have in my penny jar that i've been hording for decades now  🤷‍♂️:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

what happened ? stores have plenty of pennies and no more slanted media stories about any shortages....LOL

Same thing that happened during the plandemic. Cash was dirty and carried the virus, but plastic was clean. That was a lie, but the masses bought it.
Condition the masses and they will come.
Or as Adolph said, "If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed".

A penny is now considered too worthless to mint. Inflation has devalued our currency to the point where our smallest coin isn't even worth producing anymore. But somehow, we're also supposed to ignore thousands of disclosed stock trades at the highest levels of government. At the same time, crypto and Bitcoin suddenly become a major part of the national conversation.

I'm sure it's all just one big coincidence. Don't take my word for it. Read the financial disclosures. Read today's announcements. Follow the timeline. Follow the money. Then make up your own mind...

After all, it's just a penny... right?

well I did a brake job on my buddies 2021 Ford Explorer, about $275.00 in parts (and yes we replaced some rotors as well for that). Now he has Lot's of pennies left over from what any shop would have charge him.

I have only paid twice time for someone else to wrench on my junk in my life and that was a front end alignment. Yet I still have no pennies.

While I did post that as parody even though yeah we did do his brakes in my driveway, so glad that tree was there even though it was hot it helped so much .

Yeah the no pennies stuff is in my opinion a scam. And the push for a cashless society is real. Like many I too have silly penny jar instead of returning a majority to circulation.
A penny is now considered too worthless to mint. Inflation has devalued our currency to the point where our smallest coin isn't even worth producing anymore.
And that is our own fault. Our Government has went away from the gold silver standard (POTUS Nixon), which in reality was to prevent or rather act as a stop gap to prevent the exact runaway inflation we see today.
And it is true during the WWII era the treasury did in fact mint steel pennies, because of the need for copper. While our elected bumbling fools we call politicians did aid in this "problem". The true problem is we did not punish them instead they keep being reelected, it's like raising a child without punishment there isn't a learning curve to simply do right. The absolute punishment for the politicians aka ruling class is merely the loss of power. That can be solved by elections or simply refusing them authority. They will only do good when they are rewarded, by either greed or power.
The ownership of blame in fact rest with the American voting public we did it to ourselves. Simply because we haven't punished those responsible.

So could the penny be minted in a lesser value coin material? yes. As the exact reason that is used is that it cost more in material than the face value of the coin.
Could we return to the gold silver standard? yes would it be devastating economically for us? absolutely. Whom would benefit? our children's children.

A cashless society is one that allows way more control over it's citizens than one that has cash. As assets can be frozen by a computer stroke. Gone pretty much is the ability to travel without a debit/CC (cashless) to get a hotel / motel room for the night.

Here is the absolute horror and acting as a harmless sidebar with my post to the topic. Now that I did my buddies brakes without telling the PITA on dealing with the electronic freaking parking brake BS Ford uses.

I need to do three more of my own, 3500 dually truck , that will be a absolute joy if I have to replace a back rotor, and having to pull the axle to do that rotor change.
Happy happy Joy joy.
The wife's Jeep, and the daughter Challenger both of those two painless (which I could postpone for a while), I literally spend more time in jacking them up and setting the jackstands than the changing the pads on those two. Not mentioning the Jeep and the 3500 is due for a oil change as well.

The gold standard gave the world confidence because a dollar actually represented something tangible. Until we ditched it and replaced it with the petrodollar. Instead of being backed by gold, the world needed dollars because if you wanted to buy oil, you needed U.S. dollars. Turns out making the world's reserve currency the ticket to the global gas pump is a pretty good deal. Messing with the strait throws a cog in the machine. and other geopolitics has a way of ruining good things. BRICS keeps talking about reducing its dependence on the dollar, and more oil transactions are happening outside the dollar. The dollar isn't collapsing tomorrow, but pretending it is safe is like pretending Blockbuster was doing just fine after Netflix showed up. Got any 8 track or VHS ya trying to sell?, lol

At today's values, there isn't enough gold and silver to realistically support the amount of dollars and debts we've created. We kicked that can so far down the road it's practically in another ZIP code. And you think getting a hotel room without a credit card is hard? Try getting a credit card without a Social Security number, or a mortgage, or a job, or opening a bank account... oh yeah and when you file your taxes I think they want that silly number there to... And the right to bear arms?

We're already assigned a unique government identifier at birth, and it's become the key to participating in modern society. And what are those unalienable rights the Founders were talking about? I guess the modern translation is - rights that exist only as long as a system says we're in good standing... and counted accordingly like sheep... Can i get your social security number?:devilish:

We ditched the penny years ago here in Canada, now you round up or down by a cent or two, no big deal. The cashless society thing is another thing, every gov would love to control your money including ours. As for gold reserves to back the cash our gov sold off all of ours ffs!

my drivers side low beam needs replaced, may as well do both sides at the same time. its a 2020 Ram 1500 bighorn. in order to access the low beam you have to undo half the screws on the wheel well cover and try to reach up inside with one hand and undo the back end of the assembly to access the bulb

i tried that ONCE....its worth every penny :) to take it to the mechanic down the street and have him do it.

replaced it with the petrodollar
Truth fully the petrodollar is a "new" term when the shift from gold/silver occurred it was called fiat dollar. Don't get me wrong I know where the "petrodollar" term came from.

We're already assigned a unique government identifier at birth, and it's become the key to participating in modern society.
When I was born I wasn't assigned a number, you very well have may been but, me nor my Brother, and sister was either. There is quite a few of us that wasn't whom are still walking above ground today.
The common practice was that one did not get a SSN until actually entering the job market. Then approximately 1976-77 it became practice to require the SSN to be enrolled in a public school. Now as today, as I understand it that is only if US born, if not US born then no SSN required which policy came into play a good bit later than the mid 1970's. And it very well maybe that there isn't a requirement today for the SSN at all. Being a grandfather I simply would not know. It wasn't until around the 1980's did the requirement to have the SSN start being issued at birth.

Gold Silver certificates yeah I carried them in my wallet earned them at work, my coins did have silver in them, except the penny which was copper. Trust me I was old enough to remember when we shifted from the Gold Silver standard (1971 under Nixon with a Executive order that put the final nail in the coffin of the Gold Silver standard). The fiat system was based on credit, the term "petrodollar" is used solely because of the jockeying of the US to restrict Oil to the US Dollar. That last part was because of the "embargo" when OPEC wanted to be "greedy". Actually they just wanted more of a share as it was usually US businessmen in the oil market that greedy. But today our currency system is the fiat system, a line of credit based on "faith" and common folks retirement systems. Petrodollars (1974's era) is solely based on the oil production control to keep a nation or a group of nations from controlling the oil market, that was signed into a treaty. The world followed suit.

Gold and Silver is not a consumable item, it is a durable consumable, meaning it is not gone after first use but can be recovered and reused. Gold and sliver prices was heavily regulated and set by the Government. Which after shifting away the market was allowed to set the price, Prior to Nixon's EO, gold was about IIRC $65.00/oz, $1.62ish /oz (troy) for silver. The Petrodollar never replaced the Gold Silver certificates, it was and remains the Fiat dollar. Petrodollars never officially replaced the Fiat dollars either, now was it ONE pillar yes, but there is and was way more than just it dollar terms used to re-enforce the Fiat system.

At today's values, there isn't enough gold and silver to realistically support the amount of dollars and debts we've created.
Is there enough Gold Silver in the Reserve with the massive climbing in price to what little over $4,000.00 per oz, and silver being around $60.00 / oz. Honestly it will be based on how much Gold and silver weight in oz are in the Federal Reserves. IDK about anyone else but to go from $65.00 a oz to over $4,000 a oz means that quite a few $10.00 and higher denominations could be issued. One and Fives was based on silver.
244.8 million troy oz is equal to a trillion $$ . Or roughly 16 million pounds of gold, seeing how we humans have extracted little over 534 million pounds of the stuff. Yeah there very well could be enough. Maybe, just bear in mind I've just addressed gold in this silver is far more plentiful. Your argument is based on a assumption not fact.

Now I am not saying that the currency is collapsing either when I'm advocating the return to the Gold Silver standard. My premise is to control run away inflation, or control the amount of printing as in less making the Dollar worth more. Simple supply and demand principle. When one has 5 to 10 % inflation annually it doesn't take long to have where a can/bottle of coke to cost a million dollars. Today a $100.00 bill is like a $20.00 used to be.

what does all the BS I posted have to do with pennies, well copper prices have exceeded to value of the coinage, even when we simply plated the zinc coin. The solution is simple use a different metal alloy.

Why do I refer to the topic as BS simply put there isn't anything you or I can legally do to fix it. Because we continually vote in people whom refuse to fix the issues at home prior to fixing the outside of our borders issue.

Yeah that is kind of and proves my point, if done on the gold silver restriction. The cost to produce would not exceed the face value.

Although there is clear references that the US Government coin (mint) in gold and silver. Article 1 clause 8 through10 of the US Constitution is the reference. The penny is the exception yet was originally silver. Until the 1850's there was actually a half cent or penny minted.
While there is the restriction of minting in gold and silver. There isn't one for printing off the top of my head so yeah they could be printed (penny or 1 cent note) on paper I guess. which would stir up another debate would it be the same dimensions as in dollars configuration or smaller / larger etc ,etc ?

Think about the water versus diamonds paradox. Water is essential for life, yet it's cheap. Diamonds are mostly luxury items, yet they're expensive because people assign them value.

Gold is kind of the same way. It's valuable because people agree it is. Oil is different. Without oil, the world stops. Food doesn't move, shelves don't get stocked, planes don't fly, and economies stall. That's why I think the petrodollar matters. It ties the dollar to something the entire world has to buy, not just something everyone agreed was valuable. Vanity is a hell of a drug.

Maybe the most advanced civilization of all eventually realizes the greatest investment isn't in currency... it's in consciousness.
