trigger

Budget is the RRA, get in on ar15.com for $90-$100 or PK Firearms is a RRA distributor. A great single stage is the Spikes Battle trigger , its Nickle Boron, $60 and AIMsurplus.com has them. Then sell your factory fire control for $25 and you are set

You can google up the '15 min Home AR Trigger Job'. I think it is a U-Tube video. The next easy choice is to get a Timney 3 lb drop-in. I'd try the 15 min one 1st if you don't like the results you can replace it. I have a RRA-NM trigger & don't thinks it's all that great, compared to a Timney.

I had a JARD put in my AR, nice 2 1/2 pull. I called Rock River Arms about the National Match I had. They told me to spray with lube and shoot it it. I sprayed it with CLP and after 100 rounds, got a JARD trigger. The Timney triggers are nice too. With the JARD you have tap the grip screw hole thru for the ajustment screw to fit. The Timney is just drop in. I can changed to JARD to 1 1/2 if I want to. Just change the springs. Timney's come 3&4 pounds.

I ordered a rra nm from joe bobs, haven't got it yet. It was 94 dollars plus you can get a discount for being a pm member! 5%. I ordered it with a 16in predatore pursuit so I don't know how long it will take to get it. I also have a dmps with a trigger that sucks! I took it to a gunsmith and he worked on it,he took out all the creep, but now it double fires every so often.

KountryBoy...
that double fire is not cool as far as ATF is concerned! I assume you know that! I have a Stag LH and the trigger that came with it Sucked Out Loud! I bought the 2 Stage RR trigger from Joebobs and it is REALLY nice for the money. I was going to tweak my original one, but I figured if I bought a "stock" piece of equipment from a reputable company like RRA I would be better off.

Here is the 15min trigger job:

Here is the link to the JP reduced power trigger springs:

http://www.joeboboutfitters.com/JP_AR_15_REDUCED_POWER_SPRING_KIT_p/brn-452-000-007.htm

I started out with a stock trigger. That trigger felt like it had at least a 20lb pull (exagerating some of course). So, I did the 15min trigger job. That improved things a bunch! However, still pretty heavy and when I tested it, yep, it was right around 7lbs pull.

So... I bought the JP Springs and installed them. Voila, my standard "stock" trigger now had a pull of about 4lbs measured. Now I just need to go polish the sears some to get some of the "roughness" out of it.

Before you do anything, I would highly suggest trying the JP springs. Worst case, you have spent $10 on something you can still use with any trigger, including the RRA NM.

The RRA 2-Stage National Match triggers are a really popular trigger. We can hardly keep them in stock most of the time.

How much different is the RRA 2 stage than a single stage. My buddies interested. I did the 15 min on mine and its sweet. You can take out the creep on a stock trigger with the set screw trick.

Literally Nite and Day when you go from a single stage to a 2 stage. Not just bc its a better feel but you also have the factor of what a 2 stage is actually designed for

Hey Widow, can you divulge the secret?

You take the grip screw out get a 1/4 20 tap and make sure the hole is tapped all the way thru. The grip screw hole comes in under the trigger. Next get a 1/420 set screw a 1/4" long put some loc tite on it run it all the way in until it just touches the bottom of the trigger. It takes some fine tuning to take out the pre travel. When you are done cut a 1/4" off the grip screw and put it back together.

I just passed it on from another forum as both of my current triggers are geissele ssa's which I can't recommend enough, so I never checked the shipping, with is what I like about your site with the free shipping over $90. The only problem with that is I am always looking for that extra 5-6 dollar item to put me over $90 only to have to do it again when I remember to us the PM discount.
