Bottom line....... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif
...your the one paying the cash....
...your the one looking the gun over before the purchase
(and if not....oops, who's fault is that ? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif)
...your the one that has to make the decision.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
As far as idiots behind the counter.....I'd rather have a kid at WalMart that admittedly says he doesn't know, than have a "know it all" gun dealer behind a counter that's full of hot air & BS.......seen plenty of them.
Besides, you can still get an unknowing teenager behind a gunshop counter as well, what's the difference ?
We've got a couple of gunshop "beaut's" around here, one of which told a local kid that it was legal to put a handgun length barrel on a Contender carbine to carry......."not in NY it ain't".
I kept my yap shut through most of his "hot air sermon", but when it came to giving that kid the wrong advise...I opened up and told him he was flat a$$ wrong, and his advise would get that kid's gun confiscated, and him put in jail.
He started arguing that I didn't know what I was talking about, until I told him that I had to enforce those laws for the past 20yrs., and that a bet of $100 bucks and a quick call to ATF would settle it.
After a few minutes of trying to defend himself, he started backpeddling....a little red faced.
Nonya....sorry about the CD shotgun mishap, don't know much about the Daly's, but I know WallyWorld....and they will replace it to your satisfaction...absolutely positive! (and, if done right, probably replaced with a better brand as well)
They're one of the few stores that will take care of the problem with an exchange, rather than putting you through the hassle of having you send it back to the manufacturer.
Try that with a gunshop.........
My wife's been an OTC Manager in our local WM pharmacy for over 13yrs, and although I'm not all warm & fuzzy "pro-Walmart" or nothing, I've seen the extent that they'll go to make a customer happy.
I've witnessed one guy who had bought a push lawnmower that he visibly abused before bringing it back to the store. Looking at the damage, and based on the company policy, they said that they couldn't return it. It was over warranty, and it was obviously abused. They offered to send it out and have it fixed at their cost, but no, this guy wanted a new one.
I saw it....it was trashed....I'd have been embarassed to bring it back requesting a new one, personally.
Frustrated, but determined, the guy called WalMart home office, and they called the store in question....that guy ended up getting a brand new rider priced around $2800 bucks or so, in exchange. Just to keep him happy.....I saw them loading it on his truck....and couldn't believe it.
Like I said...not a big WallyWorld kind of guy here...nice (minor) perk's being married to an employee of their's, yes.....but I know for a fact that they'll go to great lengths to make sure that the customer's satisfied...
Take it from me.....
Any of you guys ever have a problem, and have spoken with the store manager and still gotten nowhere (very rare)....especially with a gun........remember this sentence.......
"I'll be contacting "Home Office" (in Bentonville,AR) then. Can I have their number please ?"
(remember....HOME OFFICE)
Those simple words will have the same effect as Moses parting the Red Sea (especially to the store manager)......mark my words....LOL
Nonya....if you have to, try it and let me know of their reaction...heehee.
Sorry so long......
Take care,
Bob
