wal-mart guns?

Tooner hit the nail on the head! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

I don't think the problem with Wal*Mart is so much the firearms as with some of the guys who work there. I worked at one in Maryland, part time, for a while. Most of the rifles come in from the distributor, Mid-South I think it is. Anyway, some of the stores have guys who go through the new guns coming in to the store. If it has a nice stock and bluing it gets marked "Hold" or "Sold" and put in the back of the locked storage room. It'll stay there until the rifles are marked down. That markdown plus a 10% discount becomes a very attractive price for the employee or a friend he might be selling it to. Kind of a shady practice don't you think? Best wishes.

So Tooner what you are saying is buyer beware Don't trust the store to sell a good product. check it out first. You are right you better not trust Wal Mart how do you get the lowest prices you have to sell less quality get your help to work for less no benfits use illgeals to clean your stores they have been caught for that. They have to screw someont to get the price down and then convice the public they are doing it for them Some people think this is a con
Wal Marts honesty died when the founder died.

That's something I noticed here once. A nice looking Browning was displayed then gone, then displayed again. When I asked the employee told me he had quite a few in the lockup that he was going to bring out periodically.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif Do WalMarts sell dogs Jack? I might have to buy them at wally world to get the who buys the most of them discount. Might as well shot some P.O.S. dogs from WM instead of some good Ole dogs from the local pound. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

Ya Walmart sells dogs they imported some chows from China that were crippled but will sell them for less. They were raised by the same people that make most everything on WalMarts shelves. Is this insourcing or out sourcing

Are they full size chows or minurature? Might have to get the WM discounted ammo if they are big Dogs. May need to use the STW on them. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif I think you all have road this horse in the dirt deep. I don't buy new rifles much as i prefer to customize to my taste but, I look at rifle at walMart and they are the plain jane you might call feild grade. No LTR's, Senderos, Coyotes, Or upper priced anything in the WM in this town. Locals cannot compete with them on the base line rifles. Go to your gun dealer to get the Classics, Accumarks, Etc. Common you guys have to know what your looking at! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gif Drop it and buy what is in your budget is what it amounts to! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

Mauser, I'll say buyer beware and be knowledgeable, no matter who you are buying from. Know how they do business, think about what you are buying, and if you don't like it, don't deal with them.

Lots of people seem to prefer buying from Wal-Mart. I'll tell them how I think it works, if they seem to want to hear it, but I think they then should choose for themselves what they are going to do.

Wal-Mart does drive down the costs of purchasing their goods and putting them in the stores, and does pass on some of the savings to consumers. That's their strategy for selling high volumes of goods, and that's their strategy for making profit. No one has to buy it. I don't think they should keep prices up to pass on profits to manufacturers when consumers are voting with their money in favour of lower costs and lower prices.

If any consumer doesn't know that higher quality tends to cost more and lower prices tend to buy lower quality, they are lazy. It isn't too complicated to figure out.

LOL it isnt complicated at all but some people refuse to accept the obvious, even if I was gonna but a field grade rifle i would go elsewhere and pay a few $ more.I shop at WM on a regular basis but there are certian things I will Not buy there, guns, hunting clothing and computer components,I have had to return all three more than once.

Okay, their guns might be crap....but their rubber worms are to die for..... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

....this is getting comical... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif............

I guess I'm a little confused here. Several folks have made the comment about when K-Mart use to sell guns. When did they stop selling guns???
Had to have been after about 9:00 a.m. today as that was the last time I was in the local stores sporting goods dept. looking for an item. Their rifle/shotgun rack was full????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Welcome to the board mtncat! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Some K-Marts in some areas may not sell firearms. It appears to be a local thing because most still do. Plenty for sale in K-Mart here. Also many for sale in the Save-on drugstores.
